Firing pin issues..

Hi
I have a M&P15 Sport.II,i really like it and i enjoy shooting it.
Last night after cleaning the rifle i saw something i never noticed before..
The firing pin have a litle pittet point at the tip..
I'm a reloader and startet to examine the primers at the fired cases and noticed the indent from the firing pin looked different than i can remember it looked before..
I dont know og it's damaged or if it should look like that..
The rifle function like it should as far as i know..
Can someone hjelp me?

If you're asking if the overall shape is proper, it appears to be. If you're asking if the tip is pitted, and if that's normal, the picture focus doesn't show the tip clearly. But, the tip is supposed to be smooth and rounded.

If the rifle functions as it should I personally would not do anything. If there is any concern regarding the firing pin put a new one in and go. I believe even in today's market they are still available.

The tip is blurry in your photo, but the overall shape looks right. I have a couple extra firing pins I ordered years ago in case I needed them, but I haven't so far. One AR has about 10,000 rounds through it on the original firing pin.

Any AR firing pin will work. It doesn't have to be S&W. I ordered mine from CDNN Sports. They were not expensive - I think about $3-$4 each at the time. Maybe a bit more now, though.

With the lack of clarity in the picture, I have to go with the others. It looks ok to me from what I can see.

You could replace the firing pin they aren't expensive, Midway USA has firing pins in stock; $8.99 - $9.99.

I keep entire bolt carrier groups in my hand grips and my range bag is outfitted to correct most issues.

I have never needed to swap out bolt carrier groups but if needed I can do so. Lol

I've ordered a new from Brownells just in case it breaks.
I throw in some other pictures, they show what i mean i bit better..but not very sharp.

Looks like the tip has three lines, making three
even sectors--like a pie chart with three 120
degree divisions?

That's not right. The tip should be a smooth,
even hemisphere, with no visible features.
