Now I have to find a couple boxes of 5.7 x 28 for my daughter. Her husband gave her a new Ruger in that caliber for her drive across country...for protection... and she only has 2 boxes of ammo. and wouldn't you know it...about a month ago I was offered a 1000 rounds of it for a reasonable price. I say a PITA because with those of you who have daughters will recognize ...the start of the conversation was Daddy, I love you ! yeah right...and they always seem to want something!! Remember??

Well I'll try to splain as Ricky said to Lucy. Back last July she broke her arm at the wrist area badly enough it needed surgery. Anyway...when she was back east at Christmas time she got to shoot the 5.7 and was able to handle the recoil with no pain or loss of motion. Not so with the Ruger 357 I had given her for personal protection but she also has a 22(hey better than nothing). She manages a ranch up near Red Lodge in montany country and had flown east... She drove back in a P/U that her employer had in Md. He sold a farm in waterfowl country and he wanted to bring the truck to Montana...so she drove it back out here. Ergo needed a PP gun and one that didn't hurt to shoot. So there it is...the whole story.+ She's still a PITA

Oh and I did see some of it available at the Billings Cabela's back about the 10th of Dec...before she went east

I feel for you. My daughter wanted to shoot trap. Shes left handed. Traded a 03 Springfield for a singke barrel trap gun. She wanted a scope for her .22 last year. I had a tasco on my first .22 from a bubble pack! I put a Leopold on hers lol! I look at as i got her into shooting. Well worth the cost.

Daughters are our greatest blessings as well as challenges!. As a lifelong bachelor I have no sons or daughters, but my two nieces (ages 30 and 40) fulfill the role for me. At least both of them and their respective spouses are heavily pro-gun and I know I'll have a good place for my guns to go when I "shuffle off this mortal coil." ;)

I did it to myself....

No one to blame but me. I've only tinkered with rounds requiring small rifle primers, but I was stocked up on the stuff i use. I recently finished building two ARs and used up the 150 primers I had the first week. Now I'm stuck with buying commercial ammo.:(

Only 2 boxes of ammo ... that's 100 rounds ... is she expecting trouble ...running gun battles up and down the interstate .
What's going on !

It's not your daughter's fault. It's your SIL's.

That is what happens when you go out and buy the new style "Toys" that they are making today, for us to play with and be "Cool", shooting the new weapons, that look like something Flash Gordon would use.

What ever floats your boat.

If it is the rifle that I am thinking about, I really don't care for the style or shape. It looks like a short 2x6 with a hole in it, but I'm old fashioned and don't care for a lot of the new "Plastic weapons", however the new ammo is interesting.

A 40gr bullet for SD ?

I don't think it's the rifle. But the pistol in the same caliber. It is a military developed round made to deal with body armour.

What's a walking dead...some kinda zombie show? Well I consider a 100 rounds as woefully short of ammo. I do have a few calibers or gauges I don't really need much of..or types of ammo. I probably only have about a 100 or maybe a few more 12 ga slugs...mainly for my bear gun a tactical(hate that word) M-1 super 90 and a couple hundred buckshot rounds...but I can make them easily. I can probably find another 100 or so 5.7s for her..Then I can get my 357 Ruger combo back. I gave her a Rem 7400 06 for necessary and she has a very accurate 22-250 for yotes and wolfies and of course her favorite Rem 11-87. That gal can shoot that darn thiing. She's a less than a box dove limit shooter on average...be better if she shot more!
