That gun you just like for non-rational reasons (my Colt Gold Cup)

Well, since it's for non-rational reasons....my Charter Arms Pitbull .45. A gun that is what it is. ( Whatever that means.) 😊

I put this one together about a month ago. The frame is from a 1958 Colt .38 Super, the slide came off a trashed Colt Government Model that a friend bought and resurrected (he turned the frame into a .38 Super), the barrel and bushing both came with the slide and are marked NM. It will feed an empty case from the magazine. It shoots hardball to point of aim at 15 yards. Starting to work with swc's and HP.

For some irrational reason I am drawn to the Remington 31 pump shotgun, especially in the riot configuration.
This one is a factory riot from 1934, but I refinished the wood as the finish was flaking badly

Xfuss......Can you tell us who the maker is of your holster and the year of the Colt SAA that goes in it....Both are very nice!......................................M*

My Laugo Alien certainly fits the definition of irrational. I'm fat and 70 years old, so my practical usage of what is essentially a gun designed for run and gun competition is unlikely. But, not sorry!

I have you beat, I'm 71 and fat and have not participated in the "Race Gun" sports for 20 years but I'm glad I bought my Alien also.

Of all of my acquisitions, this one ranks at the top of being non-rational... a Winchester 1887 10 ga. lever action shotgun.

It has a 2-7/8" chamber and was meant for black power shotgun shells, so it can't be used with modern 10 ga. ammo, which is 3-1/2" and smokeless.

Ammo must be hand loaded in order to safely shoot it... pre-loaded 10 ga. black powder ammo in brass cases was once available with the popularity of Cowboy Action shooting, but I no longer see it.

My second love in firearms is lever actions, I bought the 1887 on a whim without giving ammo availability a thought.

My bone stock 1970s Colt SM ACE. It's a hoot to shoot!
Give me about 3 min to swap out a Series 70 .45acp top end and it's a serious pistol.

Best gunshow ever, a very small local show, where a guy had 4 Colt factory SM ACE magazines AND a Bianchi holster specifically marked S&W M41 all for $75. Think I sprained my wrist getting my wallet out!

The Spanish Squirtgun !!!!

This Model was the first handgun I ever purchased (well, my Dad bought it with my money). Saved up several weeks of cutting grass money to pay off a layaway at the old Crescent City Guns in New Orleans. I was 15 in 1975, the gun was $70, and I was paid $10 per yard, large or small.

Have no idea what I traded it for later.

Thanks for the memory. :)

Remington Model 7 CDL in .300WSM. It was nothing I needed but something I had to have for some reason or another.

The Astra 600 was in 9mm luger, the 400 was in 9mm largo and the 300 was in .32/.380. Once I got used to the pistols unique grip angle I had no problems shooting it.

Of all the hand guns I own, I enjoy shooting my Series 70 Colt GCNM more than any of them! Because I shoot it so much, I don't think I can shoot better with anything else I own. I have competed with it for many years and I was the only guy on my team without a red dot or laser sight - I just use the factory iron sights.

And..... since 1974 it has been trouble free, 100% reliable and a sheer pleasure to own!!!
