Between surgeries, COVID restrictions, and rising fuel prices, I haven't been able to visit many gun shops to observe inventory. From viewing what can be ordered online (not much), what can be pre-ordered online (not much more than not much), and what Youtubers are reporting that they are able to score, it seems that the only ammunition on the foreseeable horizon is imported brands. In fact, one American based remanufacturer of ammo seems to have a greater offering from their product line in Canada than here in the United States!

What ammo brands are you seeing returning to the local shelves?

As always, thanks for your help!

Recently at Cabelas I bought CCI MiniMags.
Not exactly on the shelf.
They were behind the counter and I had to line up and hope they didn't run out before I got to the front of the line.
Then I got my allotted 500 Rounds!

Haven't been to any brick and mortar stores, but online all I'm seeing is a bunch of unknown brands, steel cased ammo, and some remans. Nothing like Federal American Eagle or Fiocchi. Some Magtech. It's all still sky high.

I was at an Acodomy in Topeka Thursday, they had a pile of 7.62x39 and quite a few shotgun shells.
Last week was a Cabelas in KC and before the door opened at 0900 there was a long line outside. When the door opened it was a footrace for the ammo. The game they play is; work as a tag team, they get a cart, load it up and one persone takes thier alloted limit through the register as the other person pushes the cart around the store. then they repeat this unit they have exahsted all the ammo in the cart. CHEATERS!

Picked up 100 round Winchester Super-X 22lr and 50 round CCI Standard Velocity 22LR at a Walmart in NC last week. Limit two each at regular prices. $3.50 each for the CCI, and $8.68 each for the Winchester. Less than $25 for 300 rounds of 22lr.

About 2 weeks ago I bought 2 boxes of 45 acp 185g fmj Browning ammo at my LGS. $29.99 per box of 50. Went there yesterday the only ammo available was behind the counter in rifle calibers like 7mm mag and such. I think they had some ammo available if you bought a rifle or pistol.
Absolutely no primers or powder.

As much as I hate to go shopping, I did this morning with my Wife. And i wondered over to the sporting goods at Walmart. They had some target loads for shotguns, (federal), and some 22 CCI, The shotgun was $5.97 a box, and the 50 rd boxes of 22 was $3.97 a box. I did see a good variety of turkey loads but I didn't look at the price, And a few boxes of rifle ammo. Thats the most I've seen in months. But I usually don't go to Walmart. The local gun shops shelves are empty. Here in SW PA.

Interesting. About two years ago all the Walmarts in these parts discontinued all ammo sales. I would have thought that was a nationwide decision but apparently not.

I have a Cabela's close by. Once or twice a week they get a shipment. They never know when it's coming. It just shows up on the truck overnight. People line up and are able to buy five boxes per person. All the regular stuff is there, Herter's, Winchester, Federal, Magtech, CCI. When it's gone it's gone until the next truck comes in with ammo onboard.

The little shops are not so lucky. They sit by their computers all day waiting for the distributors to email them. I'm told they have less than half an hour to confirm the order or it goes to the next little shop in line. One owner told me the manufacturers are so busy filling back orders that the distributors aren't even taking new orders. Sucks being a little fish swimming with the sharks is pretty much how she put it.

Some of the Walmart's I've heard stopped the sales of ARs, But they still sale ammo. Around here. As much as I don't like to shop at the box stores I can't shoot myself in the foot and run out of ammo. 2 kids busting clay birds and ringing steel at our range. This ammo not being available stinks bad. And try to find reloading components is like finding hens teeth. I did stumble onto some 380 ammo the other day I couldn't believe it.

On the bright side....................

you can still go to your favorite place to eat and order your favorite dish, that is Yummy !!

I will get fat and sassy, while I wait for this to mellow out.

"One more pitcher of Margareta's please.............."

What ammo brands are you seeing returning to the local shelves?

None, I only buy on-line.

Brands? HA, lucky to find anything, LGS around here are all out, or still ridiculously priced.

I don't live in the sticks and we don't have any farm tractor/feed stores with dusty shelves full of hidden bargains, lol

Bass pro had a ton of Herter's 9mm in stock today. They let us buy 8 boxes of ammo whether 1,000 case or 100 round box. I walked out with 1,700 rounds this morning.

About a week ago I saw some Remington ammunition locally. Not much, but some. Shotshells and an even smaller amount of rifle.

Nothing up here shotgun rifle etc just got a box of 12 gage 00 online cost me $40+ with shipping. About 3 weeks ago had a family member that works at a shop get me 9mm at $13 a box and 45acp for less than $20 a box his cost so you figure out what's going on?
