A small, near victory from behind enemy lines

There will be no new Federal gun legislation as a result of this incident. The promised executive action, if any, will be nothing but eye wash. There is no political will to push forward any gun legislation and executive action is very limited. What we are seeing is nothing but political pandering to the Democrat base.

HaHaHaHaHa . . .

Double HaHaHaHaHa. I don't think some people realize that things are never going to be the same in this country.
The FBI knew of this guy and never put him on the NICS no go list. Not the first time this has happened.
Boulder's Assault Weapons Ban fails as Biden is going for anti gun legislation, guy known to the FBI kills 10 people with an AR 15 in Boulder within days of ban failing. Coincidence?

There was no legal reason to put this fella on the NICS no go list . . .

Edit: And if you are advancing the theory that somebody put him up to this to advance President Biden's well known campaign plank position regarding "assault weapons," I can't help you . . .

From what I read, the FBI knew of this guy only through a connection to someone they were watching. Would you be OK with being on the NICS no go list because you knew someone that robbed a bank? Could what your suggesting be considered Red Flag on steroids? I have another theory about how a 21 year old with underlying mental problems can be driven to this, but I cant discuss it here.

Your crystal ball needs replacing. There will be new federal anti-gun laws. I just hope that none of them include an outright ban.

What scares me is the number of folks who have purchased all types of weapons, over the past few years, that have never spent any amount of time on the range or in class learning the safety rules and developing firing skills with those particular weapons. In Tennessee they are getting ready to send a bill to the governor to permit anyone over 18 to conceal carry without any permits or classroom instructions.

That doesn't scare me. Texting and driving...now that scares me, and is far more deadly.

The bill in TN will be to allow those over 21 y/o, or 18-20 y/o if in the military, to carry without having to get a Handgun Carry Permit. IMHO, this will not suddenly make a law-abiding citizen to go out and commit crimes. Also, since criminals don't follow the law, having a HCP law on the books doesn't stop them from going out and committing crimes.

The one thing this new law will do is mean that there are a few more people carrying on the street that don't really have any training. We can only hope that if someone is considering carrying outside the home, they decide they need to get meaningful training to know how to operate their weapon and know what the law says about when they can/can't use that weapon.
