Executive Action Tomorrow

I joined the SAF, already NRA member.

And I am now a Life SAF member.

One thought: For those who have braces, possibly the way to keep them after a reclassification would be to mount them on a (16"+) rifle. Then, if and when the SC overturns this overreach, you will still have your property. Of course, this is going to be contingent on whether braces themselves become banned items just like bump stocks, of if they are only verboten if mounted on a pistol. Just thinking out loud, don't pay any attention to me.

Just wrote my two ultra liberal senators asking them to vote against David Chipman for head of the BATF.
Won’t do any good but I liked doing it.

Biden's brain is on exlax! He called the ATF "AFT" several times! Joe reads from a prompter which was written by communist inspired humanoids. He does not know what he is saying 99% of the time. It is time that the Republicans go after Joe with the 25th Amendment if not out right impeachment!

Unfortunately the next to succeed is probably worse.

I Love the new rhetoric ... "Ghost Guns" sounds so scary and evil .

How many GG's have been used in crimes ...very , very few !
Steal a gun and file the serial# off is way more easier for a criminal .

All of our concerns are valid and we must support the organizations that litigate on our behalf- but that's only half the story. I've had an FFL for 50 years and I have seen first hand how a hostile ATF can effect the gun industry; prior to the Clinton administration there were numerous small shops that were operated from peoples homes. Then ATF came up with regulations prohibiting gun shops in private residences and almost 40% of small dealers lost their licenses. This may not seem like a great problem for folks who line in urban/suburban areas but in the rural areas this was a disaster since part-time small shops were about the only commercially viable venues. (Since then those regulations have been relaxed a bit). The point is that punitive excessive regulation of the gun industry cannot help but restrict access to guns for law-abiding citizens. Please don't forget that the industry needs protection as well.

"We should also ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines in this country," Biden said. He said "there's no reason" a person would need a weapon that can hold "100 rounds."

I have been around for a long, long time. I think this is a serious commitment by the present administration to make a serious attack on gun ownership. Probably the most serious threat ever. Those who yawn about this will be left with that mouth wide open when the rules and laws are enacted.

I just made a generous donation to the NRA-ILA. I'm an Endowment Member. I'm also a member of GOA and made donations above my annual membership.
And no one needs a car that will go over 80 MPH, or a golf bag with more than 3 clubs. The list goes on. The phrase " To each according to his needs ring a bell"? The GDP would drop by 90% if that was the criteria for what you can have. BTW, what's next, no one needs more than one child? Are we in China?

Huh? Since I posted the thread, I'll respond. I posted yesterday about an announcement being made today. The announcement was made today. DOJ has been instructed to develop rules in 30 and 60 days. If this is to far in advance, then what do you suggest? As for your other comment, if you don't agree that paying lawyers is the only response to the new rules that the DOJ has been tasked with developing, then what is your "appropriate response/contingency plan."

Mass noncompliance to any/all Executive Actions which blatantly infringe upon the Second Amendment.

Seriously, Lawyers, Organizations, and Committees have done little to prevent infringement upon the Second Amendment, nor have have they made any persistent efforts to overturn Unconstitutional Gun Control Legislation, so why anyone continues to trust in them to prevent future infringement is beyond me. Not to say that they're doing nothing or that they shouldn't be supported, only that there is only so much that they can do, and they're evidently powerless against the authority of the Government, and that they cannot resist the law to any meaningful degree once it has been enacted.

So if all of the persistent assertions of corruption and forthcoming infringement on the Second Amendment turn out to be true, then it's best to take a definitive stand against it NOW before it goes too far.

Of course, few will, because that would involve doing something more than grumbling about it on the internet, talking like a tough guy, performing some crazy publicity stunt like dressing up like a Viking then storming a Government building, or marching around with rifles as if that does anything but strengthen their anti-gun rhetoric by making the average gun owner look like a complete maniac. Noncompliance is too agressive/risky an action for cowards and not nearly crazy/violent enough for psycopaths.

Name an amendment that you believe is absolute, and I'll provide at least one example of a legal infringement . . .

Amendment III
No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.

Executive Order 9066. And lest you characterize this as under color of the law, see ex parte Endo... a 9-0 decision by the Supremes.

Since when are RIGHTS based on what one NEEDS?

Feel free to apply that logic to any of the other Amendments in the Bill of Rights.
