Executive Action Tomorrow

Community service is imposed all the time in criminal cases wherein the defendant is not convicted. It’s called pretrial diversion. Next . . .

In cases like you cite where there has been no conviction the accused AGREES to the pretrial diversion. It is NOT imposed on them, they voluntarily agree to the community service as an alternative to prosecution, so that is not a valid example.

Really? In light of recent history, I think that’s certainly in flux. I’m pretty sure there’s not a modern definition of “sex.” There’s been nothing that’s happened yet, but it’s on the table . . .

"and I'll provide at least one example of a legal infringement" Now you have one that you cant.
"There’s been nothing that’s happened yet, but it’s on the table"
Really? There are proposals on the table to deny voting rights based on sex, no matter how its defined today? Now that would be front page news across the country...actually, across the world.

Red flag warnings

This scares the hell out of me. Any one can say anything against you and poof, you are trying to defend yourself to get your guns back

Congress is presently debating this. Apology accepted . . .

Ummm, that is not an effort to create an exception to the 19th. It is not an example of how the 19th isn't absolute. It is the exact opposite - an EXPANSION of the 19th, to include protection for gender & orientation. If anything it would make the rights guaranteed under the 19th MORE absolute, not less.

Sorry man, this is no more a valid example than your earlier one about deferred prosecutions and indentured servitude.

And in no way is this allowed by the Constitution, yet, they do it because no one has forced them to stop.

I prefer to stay focused. Before veering off into the stratosphere, the discussion was specific...the 19th Amendment. If you read the 19th, you will notice that it pertains to voting rights. The link you provided pertains to amending the Civil Rights Act, nothing to do with voting Even me, with my room temperature IQ, can see the difference between the two. Apology not expected, dooley noded.

On two occasions.....

I agree with most of what you said but I have had a couple of times in the past year where the background check tool over a hour to come back. I don't trust them and think if they change the "Charleston Law" they will make the system run so slow it will take weeks to get a gun legally.

On two occasions I've had to wait days to obtain a gun I bought.

This is all very interesting playing “one up-man-ship” with examples of how absolute or not the Constitution is. The fact remains that we have one political party, currently in power, that will re-interpret and restrict the 2A out of existence. And another political party, that while pledging support of the 2A, doesn’t have the power, or maybe the will, to stop the in-power party.
Shipmate, we got to fight this nonsense. Write and/or call your elected representatives, regardless of their party affiliations, to the point that their staff people will groan with despair at the mention of your name. I have two Rep Senators and an Rep Congress Woman. Just about every other day I send them my form letter, via their website, not NRA or GAO emailer form. They seem to ignore those.
We have to tell them how we feel. Annoyed them - that’s what we paid them for.
