As soon as I bought my new Performance Center Shield Plus I sent the slide off to CCR plating and it just came back hours ago. Now that Robar is no longer putting their excellent NP3 plating on firearms anymore I've found CCR to be just as good.
Here's how it turned out. Now this PC Shield Plus was rather hard to rack even before sending it off. The slide is very tightly sprung, and now that the slide is a little more slippery I added some Arachna Tape I had a feeling might be necessary. Funny my old M&P9c was plated years ago by Robar and I never had a problem racking the slide since it's not as tightly sprung.
next week I'll be off to the range to wring her out.
Since these Shield all have Stainless slides I've always wondered why S&W offer a version without the blacked slide.

That came out great! If you don't mind my asking, what did it cost to have that done?

They have a summer special with 20% off so it was around $120. for the CCII finish.

It looks great. Not a bad price either. Remember to post pictures after you shoot it.

CCR does great work. I've used them in the past and have been very impressed.

I was thinking about doing that for my P365 but have a few things in the works right now. I like the look.

If you send your slide back to Sig they'll remove the finish down to stainless for $65 and they have a fast turn around. I wish S&W would do the same thing. What I didn't like about the P365 and the P365XL Models I bought is that they would not run reliably with Federal 147grn HST ammunition, my favorite carry load.

Is it a chemical process to remove it? Thanks

I just sent the slide on my M&P 40c off to be milled for an optic and Ceracoted black. I carry concealed and don't want to draw attention to the weapon but that does look good.

Just got back from the range and put 200 rounds of assorted ammunition thru my new Shield Plus. It shot well with everything 115,124 one 147 grn ball but it really likes the heavier 147 grn ammo. My final test was with my favorite carry load Federal 147 grn HST with it did very well with. Here's a short video. S&W Shield Plus First Shots. - YouTube

CCR has refinished several pistol slides and one revolver for me over the years.. they are located a 1 hour away from me … I have dropped of slides and picked up several and shipped to them also…
Wonderful people.. extremely knowledgeable and friendly…
I recommend them 100%
