Except that the infection rate for children under 18 is almost zero. They don't get it, they can't carry it, and they can't transmit it.
There are currently more kids in hospitals with Respiratory Syncytial Virus, or RSV than anything else. RSV is also known as the Common Cold.
There is some evidence that the vaccine causes more reactions in kids than in adults. IOW, the potential risks outweigh the potential benefits. This not the norm for well established vaccines that are commonly administered to children. Polio, MMR, Tetanus, etc... have long track records of preventing illnesses.
My one year old grandson had it recently and my 12 year old niece did as well. My daughter is a 3rd grade school teacher and they definitely have kids out with Covid. I think the delta variant is changing the thinking on children not getting it. Fortunately it appears that even though they get Delta, they handle it quite well.
