Several Winchesters have come into and then gone out from my accumulation.

For now these are the keepers:

All of the above are well used but not abused

I am as well!
I love the model 12s I have a minty from the early 50s that was a anniversary present from my grandmother to my grandfather it is unfired and I love the quality of them. The old Winchesters had great craftsmanship and wood. I also enjoy finding some of the good old .22s. I have a 74 that is as accurate as any of the "target" guns that are out there.
Have a 75 Target that enjoy too. Also like the early 70s and the lever actions.

I had a pre 64 Winchester model 70 30:06 with a Weaver K4 scope on it.
Never missed anything I shot at. About 20 years ago, when I retired from
hunting, I gave all of my long guns away. When I told my wife, she said
"you did what? Are you crazy? That is when & how I got my crazyphil.

Ohh 'ell guess I have a few, like 4 maybe? Humm lets see

Model 62A .22 S, L. LR

Model 1894 AE .45

Model 70 Super Grade from 1945 .3006

Model US Cal. 30 M-1 Garand.30-06

I only have a picture of the M-70 with it's B&L, fixed 4 power scope. Edit: Just remembered I have a picture of the 1894 .45 Colt.

I probably have over 50 Winchester .22s. I have at least one example of every single shot Winchester produced. I also have all the 1890 examples of chambering. A Match, Target, Junior Target Shooters Special, model 69s. 61,62A, 63, 75T, 75 Sporter, 1906s including an Expert and a few others.

Unfortunately I lost all my pictures when Fototime just shut down with no warning. I love these kind of threads.

I don't have much of a collection. Just this old 30-30 I've owned for almost 40 years. Made in 1901, it has probably killed more deer than General Motors. Of course that's not fair because it's a lot older than General Motors. I got it from the son of the original owner who had it re-barreled during the war (the second one). No model 94 parts were available at that time but a local shop had a take off barrel etc from a model 64 which he had installed. Still used as my deer rifle and have recently started reloading for it. I hope to come up with some nice plinker loads for it. One day (hopefully not too soon) it will be my sons.

I've never owned a bolt action Winchester. For decades my only bolt action rifles were a Remington 788 in .308 and an FW Heym single shot in .22LR.

Times changed and I began to acquire Winchester lever rifles. Then times changed again and I sold all of them, except for two.

This was my first, a Model 94 pre-USRAC that I added a Williams peep sight to:

I accounted for a couple of small, West Texas deer with that puppy some years ago.

After disposing of my collection of basic M94s and commemorative 94s I retained this one, a M94 "Big Bore" in .375 Winchester:

Last year a friend gave me a pristine Winchester gallery rifle in .22 LR but I have yet to photograph it. Gorgeous thing, it deserves to be shot as well as photographed.

HA! Now that I think about it I have a Model 1200 12 gauge hidden in the safe, too. Bought it at a Dallas gun show in the early 1980s for $125.00. Not sure why I remember that except that it was my first shotgun and my late 2nd father-in-law was with me. We had a great time that day. I still miss him; he was very cool. Still friendly with his daughter, too, but she's weird. I had a Model 12 20 gauge but that rightfully belonged to my late 3rd father-in-law so I gave it back to him when his daughter left the compound permanently for what she thought were greener pastures. :( :D I still miss him; he was very cool.

Always have enjoyed them @ the OP. Have you had any lever guns? Fun times.

My first experience shooting was with my Dad, I think I was around 8 years old. Shot my grandads single shot bolt action Winchester (22 short or long) with a bolt action. Have the gun since my Dad passed; it's a nice memory. I'd have to check but believe it is from the 1930's...was what they used for small game hunting until the early 80's I believe.

Dad told me back then that most of the families in the country had a 22 rifle, shotgun, and a Winchester rifle for hunting.
