Hello All,

Just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Brian, and I am a high school history teacher. With all the craziness in the World and as a Libertarian I finally took the leap a few short months ago, buying my first gun, a Taurus 586 (Since traded). I then got my first S&W 686-1 and absolutely love it. Found that air weight pocket revolvers don't fit my large hands, but the 686 shoots like a dream for me. I am trying to practice twice a month and have since joined my local Rod & Gun Club in Ohio. Looking forward to learning more here from the experienced S&W community :)

Kind regards,

Brian

Welcome to the campfire.

The M686 is a great firearm. Get some training, learn ALL of the gun handling rules, then learn them again, then practice, practice, practice. No need to practice with heavy .357 Magnum rounds, either. Good .38 Special rounds will suffice. I keep a M686+-8/3" as my bedside HDW and it's stoked with .38 Specials only.

The 686 will serve you well.

Welcome from NY, the bastion of libertarians (actually, I had to look it up)...

You'll have fun here.
