Once again, it's cider pressing time here at the ol' homestead. For this first batch, only one granddaughter was on hand to help out. Thirteen-year old Addie helped pick apples....
Grind 'em up...
And squeeze it all into cider.
This first pressing of cider was a combination of Honey Golds for the body, Pixie Crunch for sweetness, MacIntosh and Cortland for tartness. Turned out pretty good.
I'll be pressing another batch towards the end of next week...primarily Fuji and Empire apples.
We put a lot of it in the freezer, give some to family and neighbors, and then Ms. Judy puts the rest up in gallon jars and processes it.
