I know this is a tad off subject, but I thought it interesting just the same. Besides, we haven't had a good air gun thread in quite a long time.

About 2 years ago I was perusing one of the local Antique Malls (I love this stuff!) and I went to one of my regular booths that usually has stuff I am interested in. There in his locked case was this Daisy Power Line 44 AG! I couldn't believe it, new in the box with all of the accessories and more! The extra barrels, extra cylinders (still new in the packaging), tools, spacers, rods, original CO² cartridges, extra pellets, etc. Still has all of it's paperwork... manual, hang tag, warranty, etc.! I couldn't believe it.

I couldn't get the gal to open the case quick enough! I couldn't believe the quality and attention to detail. What was most important was when you picked it up... it has the heft of my original Model 29! All steel here, the only plastic being the original Football grips! The original box top and Styrofoam base were just about new, as well.

It was the complete package and extras! Believe it or not, I didn't "pull the trigger". The guy was asking, what I thought was a ridiculous number (probably been in the case since, "The Dirty Harry" days and all of the hype tied to the 29!) I had her put it back. I went home and researched it and could not find any comparables (being NIB, accessories, paperwork, etc.). I found a few and kinda based the price off of that. I kept going back and keeping an eye on it for a year! I don't think the owner of the booth even came in to update his cases, etc. I asked the gal to make him an offer. It wasn't a low-ball, but it was quite a ways from what he was asking, the argument being he hadn't moved it is so long. Surprisingly, he countered with a $25 dollar increase and I walked out with my new Smith! The last time I checked, it still held air and the seals seemed to be doing their job! No, sadly... I won't shoot it, I have the real thing for that!

It's a pretty fun addition to the collection. Now I'll have to search out a 78 or 79G. Thanx a lot @PALADIN85020! Great thread that I found while searching this.

That's pretty cool. I've considered getting some BB Gun replicas of my favorite firearms, but it seems like most of the ones anyone makes these days which aren't relatively expensive officially licensed replicas are intentionally made to look just different enough to avoid any potential legal trouble, plus they tend to do that annoying airsoft thing where they make the muzzle bright orange or blue for some reason.

I had one just like that waaaaaaay back when. Used it to hunt bullfrogs in the ditches around our neighborhood. Was pretty darn accurate

What a charming childhood story.

Well there is that thing about cops killing kids that are running around with them. Easy to ID 'em from a distance.

Well in all that excitement I can't remember if I fired 5 BB's or was it 6?

C'mon Man... this shoots .177 pellets, with steel rifled barrels!
