And nope, I am not going to carry multiple of those. Just one that can use as a club after firing that one shot.

Better idea: It's 2021, (soon to be 2022) so let's just accept the fact that there is no such thing as an ideal one-size-fits-all firearm for self-defense in any given role, that folks come in all different shapes, sizes, mindsets, etc, that what works best for me or you doesn't necessarily work as well for everybody else, and cool it with all the condescending couch commando rhetoric?

I'm better with wheelguns. When I tried to convey this to a poster on the now-defunct Kansas forum, he responded with a bunch of ad hominems. His thing was striker-fired pistols, and it was a fact proven by science and physics that they were better than any other type of handgun.

Why people get so wrapped up in their own self-importance is beyond me. Self-esteem issues maybe.

My EDC (don't laugh) is a new model Llama .32 semi-auto at 8+1 with one reload. The new Llamas are 1911 pattern handguns and work the same. My going to a danger zone, but not Chicago, I carry a Kimber Micro 9 at 7+1. Going into the Chicago area it's a Model 59, no dash, or a Colt Officers Model with 7+1. Only once in all the time I've carried (other than overseas) I have only once been happy I was carrying, and I was damn glad I didn't need to do anything more then let the wind carry my covering shell open, so the potential danger decided there were easier pickings. Me thinks he doesn't like .358 holes in his hyde.

Notice I'm choosing to be armed according to the potential situation not to the insistence of someone else idea of what I'm going to need or have to carry.

Choose your EDC wisely and to the situation, not to someone else idea of what you need.

I sometimes carry a 32 caliber Colt Police Positive Special in my pocket with NO reloads. You're not alone.

I was the captain of a security detail with all my officers carrying Glock 22s. I carried a 4" S&W 686 with a S&W 12-2 in my cargo pocket. I told my crew that if they could outshoot me at qualification I would Switch to a Glock. I'm no Jerry Miculek, but I retired carrying my revolvers.
