Good Morning Ya'll,

It's a cloudy 48 degrees in the Heart of Dixie this fine Sabbath Day. I hope and pray that all of you are doing well. I woke up this morning about 4:30 am, and that is a blessing to start the day off with. I have the remnants of breakfast coffee at hand, so I am attempting to share my thoughts today. Sometimes it seems that my thoughts are like the looped music that we are forced to listen to when we are put on hold by the auto attendant (computer) at the Doctor's office. But, please don't hang up on me, I will do my best not to repeat myself. :-)

It has been really busy here, the MBH and oldest Daughter have been Christmas decorating and shopping. I refuse to go on those shopping sprees, it's above my pay grade. Only Management Level family members get to participate, and I am just the Designated Driver and Laborer.

I labored in the yard a couple of days, and still have quite a bit of leaf raking to do around the corners and places that the mower and bagger can't go. On Thursday I had the grocery buying chore, and Doctor appointment, and a couple of hours in the yard afterwards. I was, as the Old Folks used to say, "give slap out" when I came in the house. The MBH said I stumbled into the house, ate supper, stumbled to the shower, and stumbled to bed.

I got a good report from the heart Doc. He said I had one, and it was still doing it's job, I'm glad of that. It's been running for over 78 years and is still doing ok.

Yesterday, we visited with my 90 year old Sister, Betty. It was a joy to see her. My niece has been rather protective of her Mother, (my Sister) since all the virus junk started, and I don't blame her. We took some photos and just had a great time.

I didn't mention this last week, but on Saturday, Dec 11th, the MBH and I were exposed to the Covid mess. On the spur of the moment, we had invited some close friends over for potluck and cards. She had a nasty cough, and I questioned her about it, and if she had a fever. On the following morning, Sunday, I got a call from her, she was at a Doctor's office, and had tested positive for covid. :-(

So, we stayed home from church and away from everybody. I got to eat all the good food the MBH had prepared for the Church Christmas lunch last Sunday. We both had received the moderna (spelling??) shots, and on Tuesday tested negative for the virus.

Needless to say, it's been a busy week, and I have thanked God for every wakeup. We also thanked Him that we didn't catch the virus. Every day, every heartbeat is a gift, and I thank Him for those gift and the greatest gift, His Wonderful Son.

Enough!!

I am so blessed!

Have a wonderful Sabbath, and a Merry Christmas!!

Leon

Leon, I'm very relieved to hear that you and the missus are okay.

I have a friend who is going through a similar scenario right now. Relatives came over to visit, one of whom was unvaccinated, and now she and her 88 year old father -- who was visiting her at the time -- have coughs, scratchy throats, and mild fevers. Their test results are pending...

I don't understand why anyone would be more fearful of a vaccine developed by medical scientists than a virus that has killed more than 800,000 Americans, but having said that...

Friends, if you are unvaccinated, please avoid contact with other people. And please wear a mask and maintain your distance when you do have to be near others. Not spreading this virus is the greatest Christmas gift you can give your friends and family...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours, Leon... :)

Good morning, everybody. It has been an interesting week. I had some doctoring going on and everything turned out pretty well.

Yesterday I woke up to the sounds of a chain saw running. The neighbors behind me had a big tree cut down that was here when I moved here 16 years ago. The branches extended into my yard but I didn't mind. The tree surgeon said the tree was dying and had been infested with insects. The air space in my back yard really looks empty now. My uncle and I were having fun determining what kind of tree it was. While I was out back checking out what was going on I saw that the Norway spruce I planted 15 years ago was now as tall as the neighbors' 2-story house. That Norway spruce started out as a potted tree for my second Christmas in my house.

Today will be an special day. Yesterday I got a call from the wife of a classmate who I haven't seen in years. They live over in York, PA, which isn't real far away. I was very happy to hear from them and so today at their invitation I am going to go see them.

Everyone enjoy the day.

It is cold, crisp, with blue skies here in the Carson Valley of Nevada. Sunday is a special day at my place. Sunday dinner is special here, with me and my niece Katie doing the cooking. I have a rule; nobody goes hungry in my house. I'm going up to Carson City to get more fixin's for dinner. Also Southern Comfort Traditional Egg Nog. I do have to pour out some of the egg nog and add some real Southern flavoring, not for the little ones.

And if you think Sunday dinners are special. just wait until next Friday and Saturday.

JR turns 9 tomorrow. We will celebrate today as everyone is off.

There will be 15 people packed in here later this evening. We told him that he could have anything on the menu he desires. He picked Papa John's, chocolate cake and chocolate ice cream. Today the world is his oyster.

Looking forward to ensuing hilarity.

Where did the time go?
