These are ads for glass from July 1951. It seems strange that the B&L Binoculars are more expensive than the spotting scopes.

You are correct that there are twice the optics in a smaller package. However, the binos are about 1/3 as powerful as the spotting scopes. Each has it own uses for hunting and target shooting.

More accoutrements and a pistol from 1961. The Pachmayr ad does not tell the truth! I have one of those pistol boxes and use it every week. Loaded with three handguns, ammo, spotting scope and assorted tools, mine weighs well over 30 pounds! I have pretty much everything shown on the Redfield Ad, and the funny part is that I still use it all

Have tried to get this as a "sticky", but it looks like no dice. I guess if folks want to keep it going they can. I will probably participate, but not at the level that I have been. This has been getting to like a job for me, and is getting to much like work. I do not know how Moo Moo and 6string feel, but it is wearing. Not as fun as it was.........AJ
