1883

I enjoy the show but am getting tired of the Sam Elliott character constantly getting upset with the pioneers because of their naivete and lack of experience. Guess who's job it was to coach them before they ever left Fort Worth!? Yours Sam!

I know it would make for a boring show premiere to basically amount to a classroom lesson on pioneering and the show has to drum up drama. But 5 episodes in it's getting to be mighty unbelievable.

Started watching Yellwstone but got turned off by the constant "F" bombs and the obviously unreal attitude to killing people. If 1883 is the same then I probably won't watch it when it becomes available here.

I remember reading an interview by the production team behind Deadwood. They originally wrote the scripts using the language of the 1970's but it just wasn't strong enough so they bought into the modern usage.

Pity. I like a good western.

Same producers . . . same approach to language. It would actually be better without the barrage of vulgarity.

I think Sam's character has been affected by his experience in the Civil War, and the death of his wife and daughter, making him more volatile than he might be otherwise.

Really like 1883 over Yellowstone.

Now I've lost interest because they killed off Ennis
(the young cow poke), Elas Dutton's boyfriend.

I think it was a mistake.
There's no new episode this week so we need to wait another week for S01E06 to drop.
Will next episode reveal Miss Dutton is pregnant?

I watched the first 2 episodes on the regular Paramount channel. Was looking forward to the next episode. No bueno! I guess all the rest are only on Paramount +.

New Shooters

New episode last night.

This 1883 must be inspiring Girls/Women how
to handle guns and practice shooting.

I was wondering why there is an up tick in
Female shooters at the Indoor Range. Dads
too, showing them how to shoot.

The episode was spectacular as always.

Nice to see Rita Wilson (Mrs Tom Hanks) pop up in a cameo of her own.

The new cook (James Jordan) is a Yellowstone vet (Livestock Agent) and a Mayor of Kingstown alum (main Prison Guard Guy). Must be good to be a Sheridan pal.

I wholeheartedly agree with Sam Elliot's character: WE SHOULD BE IN KANSAS BY NOW!
