MEMES

One of the scales used for measuring beer density is "degrees Plato." No one seems to know the origin of this term although the Greek philosopher allegedly said, "He was a wise man who invented beer."

Ironically, you usually have to drive to get the beer, so WC Fields' complaint, "I see the cost of living has gone up a dollar a quart" could be applied to the "cost of obtaining beer" index.

"Better to quaff than to quote", in any case :D

Sure, that's a meme.
And one that the tres canines nocturnal would appreciate.
LOL. I was surprised to learn that it was written (but never completed) by Hoyt Axton.

Maybe I'll use the opening as a ring tome on my phone :)

(When I read the first line , I thought it might be the beginning of a bad limerick: "There once was an amphibian named Jerry / Who came for a ride my wherry / We hauled up the sail / And drank lots of ale / And became increasingly merry" or some such.)

I never knew Hoyt Axton wrote it, but it sounds more like his style than the 3 Dog Night.

Not a cracked rib but I fell on my elbow exiting my dry garage to go get the mail. A sheet of ice was waiting inches away. Luckily I had a heavy winter coat and a hood on, as my elbow and head hit blacktop.

I was lucky I was wearing my sheepskin coat or I probably could have really suffered some serious injury.
