What was the inspiration for your Username?

Maternal Grandfather as given to me by friends of his due to my resemblance of him. Never met him as he passed shortly before I was born.

One Ragged Hole, is usually taken.
I Never Miss, might be arrogant,
but true. 🙄

One day, after letting about 200 arrows loose, with my #44 Gold Medalist, at the backyard range, I switched to my short limb #65 Warf recurve bow, and three grazed the top of the 12"x12" target, from about 20 yards away, and I killed our house.
I missed again. 😵‍💫
I most often use my #40 Bear Grizzly or my old Hoyt Pro Medalist, set for #60, but hold is about #30 at 28".
No more teardrop cables, and larger wheels.
Been an archer for 68 years.

Note to self, RenWax the bows this week.

Before I nock an arrow, I check the shaft as well as the string nocks or wheels.

Ya know, a LOT of times these non-directly gun related threads are really pretty lame. Sometimes I think they get started just to boost post numbers for somebody. BUT this one has been very entertaining!

I tip my hat to the OP. Excellent idea.

Short answer, Smoke was my grandfather's nickname.

My grandfather's name was Vearl Bronston Hagan (I think) Junior. He was born in 1903 in Cyclone Kentucky.

He either got caught smoking in the family barn and his father whipped his ass or he set the barn on fire while smoking and his father whipped his ass.

Either way from that day forward he was known as Smoke.

I took that name to honor him.
