Maternal Grandfather as given to me by friends of his due to my resemblance of him. Never met him as he passed shortly before I was born.

One Ragged Hole, is usually taken.
I Never Miss, might be arrogant,
but true. 🙄

One day, after letting about 200 arrows loose, with my #44 Gold Medalist, at the backyard range, I switched to my short limb #65 Warf recurve bow, and three grazed the top of the 12"x12" target, from about 20 yards away, and I killed our house.
I missed again. 😵‍💫
I most often use my #40 Bear Grizzly or my old Hoyt Pro Medalist, set for #60, but hold is about #30 at 28".
No more teardrop cables, and larger wheels.
Been an archer for 68 years.

Note to self, RenWax the bows this week.

Before I nock an arrow, I check the shaft as well as the string nocks or wheels.

Ya know, a LOT of times these non-directly gun related threads are really pretty lame. Sometimes I think they get started just to boost post numbers for somebody. BUT this one has been very entertaining!

I tip my hat to the OP. Excellent idea.

Short answer, Smoke was my grandfather's nickname.

My grandfather's name was Vearl Bronston Hagan (I think) Junior. He was born in 1903 in Cyclone Kentucky.

He either got caught smoking in the family barn and his father whipped his ass or he set the barn on fire while smoking and his father whipped his ass.

Either way from that day forward he was known as Smoke.

I took that name to honor him.

Someone at work said i was just like a 1 lane bridge. I still don't know what that means but I can conjure up a couple of good meanings for it.

Montana Johnny was a well known and long respected rodeo cowboy of years past. Since many call me Johnny and I live in MT I just went with an alternative spelling of Johnny.
I did meet someone with the last name of Gianni and initials M T that said he occasionally was told what I had posted in places and how I was either enlightened or a fool. It happens.

My mother's maiden name, Kinman's were quakers and came over with William Penn in the very early 1700's. My grandfather always said that if you ever met a Kinman he was family. I ran across the picture and like the representation of an early character puzzling out flaking flint.

While my sons were growing up I spent 12 years as a Boy Scout Leader. During that time I took and advanced Scout Leader course called Wood badge where I was assigned to the Fox Patrol.
My hair went completely gray in my early 30s. Its a family trait.
Anyway, it took my fellow Scouters all of about 30 seconds to dub me "The Gray Fox". The nickname just sorta stuck. :D
I used to be a Bear . . .

It was my assigned radio call sign from rigging in NYC. Easier than using legal call signs because we didn't have the same crew all the time. Mostly we moved large expensive artwork.
