Anyone get a copy yet?

I was notified by a good friend, and member here, about two weeks ago of a sighting at a gun shop about an hour and a half away.

I was in my car on the way to FL at the time and missed it. In retrospect, I should have called and gave my CC.

The price was $1499. A steal from what I see on the net.

<bangs head> :(

So have you bought one?

Btw, it was cold in FL. :(

That is MSRP, which I gather is a good deal in the current market. There is one in the Forum classifieds for which the seller is trying to recoup his cost for one, more than this.

A short while back, Sportsmans Warehouse had them for retail. I was tempted, but am holding out for a 4 inch Anaconda to go with my 6 inch gun. A couple hours later, SW was sold out.

I'm waiting for a blue one
I expect you will be waiting a while. Seems stainless is king these days as it requires no extra steps for finishing. A proper bluing requires a chemical bath that, for a really good blue, is not EPA friendly and requires a lot of attention to temperature and the concentration of the chemicals. In a nutshell, stainless is faster and cheaper to produce.

I want a bright stainless 2.5".
Are they gonna make a 2.5?
There do not appear to be too many of the 2 1/2" Ultimate Stainless Pythons out there. I would not be holding out for one.

Buy the 3" now, if/when a 2 1/2" shows up buy it and sell off the 3"

This 2 1/2" Ultimate Stainless Python was manufactured back in 1983. The evolver has one of Walt Shermon's roller bearing action jobs. It is truly an unbelievable firearm. The revolver was carried for a while, however today it sits in my desk :)

BTW, I am waiting on my 3" just like most of us Forum dwellers . . . I already told my LGS I want one as soon as they show up.

I got EXTREMELY lucky a couple weeks ago. My gun buddy informed me that our local Sportsman's Warehouse had an undetermined number in stock. He had already bought/ordered his. I had to wait a couple hours, which seemed like an eternity, until I got home from work to see if any were left. I was successful and got my order in for one.

One week later both of ours arrived at the store. The staff told us that store was allotted five of the 3" guns, and one gentleman bought two of them.

Beautiful firearm.....oh and they were selling them at $1499 MSRP.

With custom "tupperware" guns complete with laser, red dot, night-sights, cruise control and GPS selling for the same amount, why not purchase one of the finest handguns in the industry. I own a 1970's 4" blue and recently purchased the new 4" Python. The new revolver actually has as smooth an action out of the box as my old one with thousands of rounds through it. BTW colt_saa, your Python custom is making me crazy. I have a nice little house in Florida if you want to trade (LOL).

Got to handle my first one yesterday, and I was actually fairly impressed. Wonderful balance, and much better action than I recalled from the first ones (the 'new' ones, LOL) in 4"/6". LGS had it tagged at $1699.

Just saw one at the LGS. Owner of the shop brought it out from in back and said it was his personal one but I'm on "the list." He's moved a few and refuses to sell above MSRP. And if you're a good customer that's the out the door price. He doesn't bother putting them in the display case because he's tired of people walking in and getting mad when he refuses to let them jump the line by offering $2,500. Not the way he does business.

Lucky to get this one, $100 over msrp, but I don't drink, smoke, or gamble, so sometimes you just have to scratch the itch…. Found it local, so no transfer fee, and got to check it in hand before buying it, which is nice.
