Been Here 21 Years

I joined this forum 21 years ago today. I was hanging out at a site called Shooters and Smithnut recommended I visit here.

It has been a great experience and I have made some new friends. I have met several in person. I joined the SWCA and have attended several meetings. I got to meet Smithnut at the Dallas meeting a few years ago.

Thanks to all of you. A special thanks to Lee and the moderators who keep this place going.

The first gun forum that I really got attached to was The Firing Line Forums and I joined that in 2007. This particular forum… well I should have joined probably two years before I did. I visited often and mostly to search conversations and discussions that were older. I learned a lot of useful information here for quite a while before I actually registered on the forum.

I've been here going on 9 years . I too have met some great guys , even met some in person at the lakeland gun show . The gentleman above , Sevens , sold me my first S&W semi , a 639 . I've been many here over the years , and never once have I had anything happen . The last one I sold I shipped before I got the check , mostly because I knew him through here , and he's helped me out . I've never met him face to face , but like Sevens I hope to someday . To tell the truth , I don't know where I'd be without it . I even got a long time member going out to the range with myself and some other Cape Canaveral retirees every Tuesday , he fits right in .

I heard that after 10 years you get a toaster and after 15 years you get a parking spot near the forum dispensary and after 20 years you get a key to the executive washroom.

Any truth to that?

I've been here about 6 years and the time has sure flown by. Being with everyone on this Forum has become a major part of my day since my retirement. I've had the pleasure of meeting a number of the folks here and I'm looking forward to meeting more in the future.

Am figuring at the very least SmithNut's join date get's corrected. And after 20 years ya get some recognition on that top bar. Something like "bonifide old fart" badge? Also came from shooter's and this is one of several favorite sites. As far as meeting people, am a lot more direct than is to be polite on this site.

I'd like that too, just too many software changes/issues have occured over time.... technology - don't you love it...
