I have thought this might be a resolution to the Ukraine conflict.

What if the United States and the European Nations offered citizenship and $20,000 to any Russian or Russian Satellite soldier, sailor, marine, or airmen who is involved in the invasion of the Ukraine...to surrender and defect? According to current data 150,000 Russian troops involved. So, 150,000 times $20,000 is $3,000,000,000 (3 billion) if my math is correct. MUCH cheaper than the weapons and supplies being sent to the Ukraine, much cheaper than many US government budgets alone. If only 1/3 of the Russians in the Ukraine take the offer it would destroy the military operation there. I suspect a lot of Russians would/might take the offer.

Think Russian Revolution of 1917. The army mutinied and revolted against the Czar.

There is currently a certain amount of pushback against Putin in Russia proper. There will be more as the Russian people become more aware of that is happening in the Ukraine.

Please share this to anyone you may know who might be able to utilize this idea.

Once the “violence” starts, it takes on a life of its’ own. Lotsa talk while there is lotsa action. Contradictory Juxtaposition indeed. Joe

Seems like we are ready to give Iran $11 B for what???
Your $ 3B will be better spent.

Consider that a certain percentage of them would be Russian agents, Spetsnaz, and saboteurs still loyal to the Kremlin.
We do not need to add to the Fifth Column members that have already infested all branches of our government, including the Pentagon.

The Chinese are another similar example.

Saw something on the news tonight about a Russian General being KIA in Ukraine today. No details about how that happened. Could be that he may have wanted to switch sides, and accidentally committed suicide.

I like your thinking! The challenge would be getting word to the Russian troops while their leadership controls what information the troops hear or read.

Old-fashioned WWII leaflet drop.

Submit leaflet to Ukrainians, cross into Europe, get citizenship in Europe or US. I suspect a large number would elect to stay in Europe where they may feel more "connected".
