Ukraine Possible Resolution

bombers

Old-fashioned WWII leaflet drop.

Submit leaflet to Ukrainians, cross into Europe, get citizenship in Europe or US. I suspect a large number would elect to stay in Europe where they may feel more "connected".

we did that in nam also. we called them b . s. bombers.

It's an interesting idea, but a little short-sighted. The billets left by the defectors would be quickly filled by other conscripts. Second, their loyalty would have to be drawn into question: how far would you trust someone swayed by money? And third, by enticing defectors, you would weaken the base of dissidents in Russia with weapons and tactics knowledge, further cementing Putin's position in this conflict.

BAD IDEA!

As many pointed out already, many would be trojan horses.

Ukraine and Russia will NOT be sorted out by talking. There are sometimes...like 1939...where talking only lead to an even worse disaster. I can guarentee that Poland and the NATO members bordering Ukraine are already read to fight because they KNOW they are next in line.

I think Putin has more support in Russia for this than is currently shown...suspect of ANY media as I am. Remember we are only seeing what the media WANTS you to see. Nothing more.

This goes far beyond Ukraine. This is eventually going to involve direct military intervention by NATO...an allaince that I personally believe is NOT as strong as we are lead to believe.

I know Ukraine got some planes from Poland recently. Why aren't these planes hitting that 40+mile convoy with strafffing and missile attacks? (I haven't checked the "news" so this may have happened)

As long as Putin has the backing of his military he will be in power...When a massive attack destroys a large part of the invasion will the military look to dethrone Putin and not until then. A coup d etat if you will. Only then will this start to wind down. At least that is what I would hope.

History is full of stories like this...like a never ending loop. Always repeating itself. In a way, I kinda feel for Putin. Despite his I'm-still-a-spook attitude, he could've changed his image and ultimately became one of Europe's most reknown statesman and possibly even the head of the EU.Sadly, his ego and megalomania ruined that.I guess I still have a bit of idealism left (why I don't know). History once again is full of "what iffs".

There are already news sources reporting military age men in Russia are leaving the country to avoid possible service in the military.

There are Russians and Ukrainians crossing the southern US border into the US seeking asylum.

Leaf droplets in Vietnam were during a different time and situation.

Even if a temporary stalemate to the Ukrainian conflict occurs by Russian military defectors...Putin might eventually do just what Stalin did...fight and die from German bullets or die from Russian bullets if retreating.

But perhaps an initial defection by Russian troops and true strong sanctions might affect Putin's mind-set.

But...in WWII Germany and Japan were "sanctioned" as strongly as can be described in the history of the world. The leadership was undeterred until their own personal destruction was guaranteed. However in today's world, "business" and monetary issues have apparently crossed all borders in America and Europe and China. Financial power seems to have become a very strong bargaining chip. So maybe real strong sanctions might prevail.

I think I just heard a report that about 200,000 Ukrainians have re-entered Ukraine to fight the Russians. If so this is a strong indication as to how serious the Ukrainians will fight.

I loved the video of the Ukrainians who commandeered a Russian tank and took it for a joy-ride as well as the Ukrainian Farmers who hooked up several what appeared to be John Deere tractors to tow away a Russian tracked missile launcher and set it on fire. Then there was a video whereby Ukrainians in a car and pulled up to a stopped Russian tank and asked them if they needed a "tow" and said they'd gladly tow the tank back into Russia. I hope Putin reached into the trout pond and got latched onto by a Bull shark.

Yes, this is very true. Border Patrol has maxed out its Russian-speaking contract interpreters over the past 3 days.

Consider that a certain percentage of them would be Russian agents, Spetsnaz, and saboteurs still loyal to the Kremlin.
We do not need to add to the Fifth Column members that have already infested all branches of our government, including the Pentagon.

They already got all them they want spread all over the place. Some of them are called UN diplomats
