Got a Last-minute call from Jeff asking for a ride today he was not sure of the time. I respond, ok. But I was unwilling to continue picking him up do the fact that the Empress was unwilling do so. It was that the Empress and detested each other, to the degree we did.
Jeff responds "'Ill" get someone else to take care of it. I don't ever want hear about the empress again.

I don't want to lose a long-term friendship over this, but enough is enough is enough.:(

Not speaking for Fred but Jeffery and Fred are good friends. Jeffery's wife (the empress) is a bitter shrew that has taken a disliking to Fred and it has finally soured the relationship between Jeffery and Fred because Jeffrey will not stand up for himself and I believe Fred has hit the cutoff point.

Fred has always be there as a support for Jeffrey but the empress has become a big enough obstacle that avoidance seems the best solution.

Fred, my phone is on and the doctor is in.☺

You have to know that this isn't the first time the empress has thrown the proverbial wrench into the works. She does it habitually...and this has been going on for years. She seems to delight in making everybody's lives miserable. Fred has exhibited the patience of Job, but when "push comes to shove," enough is enough. If Jeffrey wants to endure...fine. More power to him, but Fred is definitely a better man than I am. I would've bailed out long ago.

If it came down to it, I probably would choose my wife over a friend. I have been married to the woman for 50 years and she has never, repeat never caused any trouble between myself and my friends. If she had a problem with one of my friends there would be a good reason for it. Everybodies situation is different. Maybe he feels he owes her. Does she have mental problems? BIL is dealing with a spouse that has early onset dementia/alzheimers........is having a tough row to hoe....but as he says "I made a promise of in sickness and in health".

Yes, her only delight in life appeared to be exercising complete control over poor Jeff's life. On the control freak scale I'd say she gives Putin a run for his money.
