Are my eyes deceiving me? It looks like he's reading a... a.. BOOK  Surely he must have an iThingy?

He incredibly tech savvy. He is home schooled and tested three years ahead of his age group. At 14 he is already into his college sophomore required reading list. He has an impressive vocabulary.

He raises show rabbits, volunteers at an Alpaca farm and keeps his shots inside the 8 ring with his daddy's guns.

He can make change, too.

Sounds a bit like my late neighbour's son. Just turned 19 and is studying to be a medical doctor (I want him when my doc retires!). Aces his exams. Has been hunting since he was 14. Spent all his lunchtimes in Grade 12 in the welding shop, so can weld circles around me. Can run my excavator. Also into diving and soon, paragliding... Exhaustingly talented.

Was driving home, glance up at a Church parking lot.
OMG! So I U Turn and turn into the parking lot.
This Scout probably looks better than when it was new.
Like a Diamond in the Desert, like a Beacon in the Night (day).
Jim Glaser.

Certainly won't have any trouble finding his car in the sea of vehicles at a big gun show :D

The Texas Mountain laurel in our backyard is blooming like crazy. It makes the yard smell like grape Koolaid. Plus, the different kinds and sizes of bees are jockeying for position all over it. Love this time of year.

Two Teslas at our humble eatery this morning

My gf and I were at the window seat at our fav. restaurant in Bellingham WA again this morning. She looks out the window and sees a dark blue Tesla park right in front, and a guy around 50-ish comes in for breakfast. There is a big white dog (Samoyed?) in the passenger seat. We overheard some conversation about Panama...

OK, a little unusual as I don't think we'd seen a Tesla in Bellingham before.

A few minutes later ANOTHER dark blue Tesla parks right next to it. This time a bearded young guy (~30), jeans, kinda hip, wearing a T-shirt with something about folk music on it, and his gf/wife/ s.o. get out. and come in for breakfast. There is a smaller dog in their passenger seat.

We also saw an unusual number of hybrids (cars, not people ) even for Bellingham as we were driving home. It's a university town and a bit "woo" but we were still surprised.

A curiously entertaining start to the day.

This is Quarai, a unit of the Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument located north of Mountainair, New Mexico.
It construction which was never completed took a number of years.
Missionary Fathers convinced a then large Town of Native People to help them build it.
A number of factors including weather changes and raids by Plains Indians forced the location to be completely abandoned.
This is one of three sites in this area with the same story.

New PUPPIES, and a Fell pony

One of my neighbour's Aussies jjust had eight puppies :) They look like litle sausages-in-socks.

Her daughter Laura is "horse-crazy" and aside from her own horse, is training a Fell pony for someone nearby. (And making some money for university.)

My 15 year old Son and I hit the Range today. Here's some photos of him shooting my .22lr Pardini Fiocchi. I feel like it might become his permanent and then I have an excuse to buy a new one. Lol
