I like the .375 or even the target hammer, .50 inch, on some of my K frame revolvers. Is there a wider hammer, other than issued, for the J frame? I would like to find a .375 inch for my M60, but have never seen other than the issue hammer. What is available?

SCSW says the .375 hammer and a .347 trigger were put on a special production run of the M60 in 1990, and became standard in 1992, and ran until 1999.

Just thumbing through the SCSW, the widest hammer I see on any I or J frame is the .375 on the M34 and M35.

Hair Trigger, thank you. I will check online and see if I can't find one. My M 60's are a bit earlier than 1990, so I will first see what year they are and if the hammer will still fit the older ones.

Yes, the hammers fit the older guns with two differences. 1) A MIM hammer may need fitting.
2) The hammer/hammer spring strut. There are two styles, a ball-ended strut that fits in a socket in the hammer, and a forked strut and the hammer has a slot and pin.
The forked strut has been in use since the 1970s or so, so you shouldn't have an issue there. I believe only the very earliest Model 60s use the ball end strut.
