I think it's great looking, of course, since I have it's twin. Are you pleased with your Arms Unlimited transaction? DI you already have the Deer Hollow grips on hand, or did you get them specifically for this gun? To me they look as good as the originals.....much nicer than other aftermarket ones. Did you look up when yours was manufactured?

The colt side is certainly not the dark side. I hate to say how many new colts I've added in the past ten months but I have all three barrel length Pythons and all three are great. Still love my Smiths but in my safes Smiths and Colts can exist together in harmony.

Edit: Smiths, Colts and Rugers live in harmony in my safes.:)

Congratulations Sal

Pythons are just beautiful revolvers

Deer Hollow has some beautiful wood grips

I bet a set of Grasshorn's are going to look very good as well, I can't wait to see those pictures.

I have not picked up one of the 3" offerings yet, but I will just to fill the 3" slot.

Though as to finish, I would call the current generation of pythons semi-bright polished stainless. The older "High Polished" offerings were refereed to as Ultimate Stainless or Bright Stainless depending on the era they were manufactured in. I have Colts marked both ways but they left the Factory mirror bright

My old 2 1/2" Ultimate Stainless Python has been with me for just shy of 4 decades so far

While the Hogue grips on mine are not true to the original lines of the revolver, these work very well for me from a shooting standpoint

Wow, yours is definitely beautiful! I would have sworn it was nickel, it shines so much! I don't think I could ever polish a gun like the factory can. Of course, I don't have their fancy equipment. I'm sure some of you folks could polish them very nicely, but not me.

Knowing very well how endearingly pedantic firearms connoisseurs are (Colt aficionados maybe even more so ), I'd like to point out that this is a 2020 Python, the 3" barrel doesn't make it a new model. The current production Colt DA/SA revolvers are:

2017 Cobra
2019 King Cobra
2020 Python
2021 Anaconda

Details matter, and now please forget this post.

Also: Congrats on your beautiful 3" 2020 Python! :)

If that's the "Dark Side", I want in. I've been passively looking for a good price on a 686, but I don't own a Colt yet, and this one would be my choice.
Those are all nice guns up there; I want one! My credit card is scratching at me!
