Thoughts on the CSX

I really want a CSX but have heard they have issues liking for thoughts from people that have them.

Same here. There are a few threads about them already. Complaints seem to be a "false reset" of the trigger if its not let out all the way and mediocre accuracy.

I've handled a few but my range doesn't have a rental one yet.

I like the concept though.

I like mine but it's not exactly like any other pistol. I've owned the SIG P938 for several years and it's only drawback was the single stack. The CSX is basically the same size top end but with a double stack frame. The trigger is different but I'm getting used to it. If you expect it to feel like a 1911 trigger you won't like it. It's probably just a matter of time until the aftermarket has a better trigger kit available. Accuracy is what I expected. It's not a target pistol. No magazine issues with mine.

I shot a rental one and found it to be very accurate. The "false trigger reset" was nonexistent. I liked everything about it except the safety. It worked fine but I'm used to striker fired guns without a safety. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. Most of the complaints on the internet are just from people that are repeating what they heard some "internet gun expert" say in a video somewhere.

I've got some complaints but not that

Complaints seem to be... and mediocre accuracy.

I don't recall seeing that complaint. Mine is plenty accurate.

The 3.1" barrel is actually just 2.35" long, chamber shoulder to muzzle.

Initially mine grouped to the left, as did my son's. I drifted the rear sight a tad to the right & now it makes a big hole in the bullseye.

Works for me. :)

Target at 12yds.

My trigger was abominable, and sent the gun back.. It is moderately better, but reset is not fast and pressure required on trigger (nearly 5 lbs) on a little gun, makes for poor accuracy in a drill.....targets on rest are fine, but sight needed to be drifted "right"...A great concept...an OK pistol. My Sig P238 is more accurate and has a better trigger....does not have the power or the capacity of the CSX. Needs a trigger refinement!!!!

I tried a friends the other day. I liked the ergos, size, accuracy, and capacity. The trigger required effort to get good accuracy- at least for me.

I carry my Sig P365 w/ a safety, and I'm satisfied with it enough not to lust for the CSX. Had this been out when I bought my 365, I may have strongly considered it. But I'd also consider the shield plus too

I wanted to take a look at the CSX and asked to see one at a gun store. The guy behind the counter said sort of sadly, "it really doesn't have a very good trigger." Obviously this guy doesn't have much of a future in sales, but it does indicate how famous this pistol has become for its strange trigger pull. I dry fired it once and handed it back. Enough of that.

You know what works even better to judge the trigger on a gun, live fire it at a range. I would never judge a gun by one dry fire and a gun store "experts" opinion.

If our first girlfriend judged us by the "first squeeze" we would all be in trouble. Just don't understand what people look for in a self defense pistol. I have made the offer before but, anyone wants to unload their CSX just let me know. I will have to pay under market for that horrible defective trigger though.:D

I am not a pistol expert or an expert's son nor claimed to be one on the internet BUT for me it is the best self-defense, concealed carry pistol I have owned. I could not give a rat's *** what someone that doesn't own one or shot one thinks.

Well I have been wanting one since I saw one at the store in July. Bought one this week. It's a perfect little pistol, almost exactly the size of a Sig P938. I am able to use a P938 Holster with it. 12+1 with nice 3 dot sights. I have a full schedule but I will try to get it out next week.
I have high hopes for it.

Furrball, if you look at it for what it is then you should like it. It is a compact, metal frame, 1911 style gun that feels bigger in you hands than it looks. That was what got me. It looks sooooo small but, once you get it in your hands it feels great. I carry it in an Urban OWB carry holster that has room for a spare mag in front. It is my new off duty setup.

People here have complained about the trigger. If you are looking for a comp trigger, you too will be disappointed. It is a self defense trigger PERIOD. Have people here purchased one and gotten a bum trigger, I guess. Personally I think it is a great little gun for CCW self defense, nothing more and nothing less. Could it use a little PC love, I will leave that up to you.

That guy behind the counter won't have a good career in sales. I don't like to lie, so if someone asks me a question where an honest answer will kill the sale, I simply state "I've never fired that model, so I don't know. But I haven't had any complaints". I may try to steer the customer to something different, but I will never say a gun is a PO$. Even Hi Point. We sell lots of them too. GARY.

I wasn't to high on mini 1911 pistols like the Kimber micro 9 or Sig 938 due to their small safeties and my ability to flick it off under speed. I handled a CSX & picked one up earlier this summer. As long as you can separate your finger from the trigger between rounds & don't ride the trigger, the CSX will work very well for you. Trigger actually improved slightly after around 200rds. I've been impressed upon how easily it both hides and is easy to carry. A good performer for me, I'd have no issues buying another..

I saw one last month and I passed it by, but it kept lingering in my mind. The ergonomics are pretty good.
Later I found a deal for a used CSX. My only complaint is a minor one, the trigger is pretty heavy compared to my Shields but it's manageable. I have not shot it yet so I can't give a report about accuracy.

Typical "new gun" complaints from people who, mainly, just don't want to bother training themselves on something new. Reminds me of the old days of "My gun shoots low/left" when safe-action triggers came into fashion ...

I have to smile when I read all the complaints about the stock trigger on the CSX...I have owned three new bought Colt Series 80 1911's and the stock triggers were all awful until I reduced the hammer hook engagement surface to .020" , stoned a break-away angle on the sear and stoned both dead smooth. I did NOTHING but stoned the hammer hook surface on my CSX smooth and I am very happy with a good smooth non-gritty clean breaking single action trigger of about 4.5 lbs. I do not WANT a lighter trigger on a 21 foot gun...

I really like the CSX, but will probably stop carrying it soon.

My one complaint is that the safety sometimes disengages in my pocket if I'm doing something active like house repairs or lawn maintenance. I catch myself checking the safety periodically throughout the day without even thinking about it. To be fair - I have had other pocket pistols w/ safeties do the same thing in the past.

I'll probably switch to a 'no safety' Shield plus. I'd rather carry a gun designed to have no safety than one that exhibits this behavior.
