Warning owner armed decals on home?

Basic common sense would be to let as few people as possible know you have guns anywhere.I have seen some people over the years announce they own a gun as a general conversation topic with stangers. Not wise!

Thank you gents I just recently purchased my first home in May and just wanted to make it as secured as possible. I hope my don’t tread on me flag flying on my pole under old glory doesn’t garnish the same attention as these stickers.

In a lot of jurisdictions nowadays, unfortunately, the various “ Don’t Tread On Me “ flags identify you as a potential right-wing domestic terrorist to local and federal law-enforcement and earn you a place on a Watch List.

I would take it down if it were me.

If I were to invade your home and saw such advertisements I would do so at three in the morning. I would come in armed looking to shoot first and ask questions later. I would not be deterred.

If your perimeter is not hardened you have no advantage whatsoever.

The most opposing people are private and unassuming. They don’t want attention. If you give them wrong type of attention……. Well, proceed at your own risk.

Problem with signs of any kind these days is many of the criminals today never learned how to read.

Don't make that mistake (underestimation). About 10 years ago, a Roswell, NM man was shot to death by armed burglars who knew he would be attending a funeral. They waited until he and his family drove away from their home, broke in and were bagging up the family's stuff when the owner returned, walked unsuspectingly into his house only to be shot and killed by the burglars.

Another good reason to harden your perimeter. If you arrive home and find signs of a break in, don’t go inside. Retreat!

He had no clue there were people inside - he had forgotten something he needed at the service, and was killed once he went inside his home through the front door while his family was outside in the family car.

Wow, that is incredibly sad. Just another reason I need to carry every moment I can when not teaching.

I can think of ten retired LEO'S of one type or another that live in my retirement community. We all belong to the same gun club and shoot our HR218's together. Nobody shows or says anything not even between ourselves in most cases. There are times when a quick scan is taken and the question asked, "you packing"? Yeah, we carry that concealed. It's got to be a surprise.

I agree with that replies. DO NOT advertise,
Get a security system with remote cameras !
Many let you view the property from your cell phone anywhere you are

On the other side of this situation, a friend had a sticker on his front door that read "NO GUNS IN THIS HOUSE."

I wouldn't post on my door even if it were true.

All this reminds me of the guy who tried to market the florescent "concealed" carrier sash to wear across your body. As with all this, Always, be armed, whenever and wherever possible, as quietly as possible...

I worked at GM for about 43 years and seeing as though I was on skilled trades I had a large roll around tool box.
It was the only place I would put firearm decals & stickers. I also made a point of posting the decals for pro-right politicians at election times.

In 2004 I worked in a Machine Shop. I had a "W" sticker on my Roll Away. I came to work one morning and the night shift guy had written a very derogatory note speculating on W's sexual practices and left it on my Roll Away.

That night at shift change i made my feelings about him touching my tools CRYSTAL clear and assured him he was NEVER going to do it again.

He actually told me that my putting that sticker on my Roll Away gave him a "First Amendment Right" to express his views.

I told him that he was free to express his views all he wanted but if he ever touched my tools again we were going to fight.

I must have made a believer out of him, he never did it again and from then on the only sticker on the outside of my tool box said "Buy American Made". It's still there

Leave no signs at all

If you need to do something, just put a chalk line on your front porch...
