Sig Sauer P365 found a home

I prefer the original configuration with the regular curved trigger. The curved trigger is just more comfortable to me. The original size with its 10 round magazine is also more conducive to pocket carry which is the way I do carry 60% of the time. By using an extended magazine in the gun while carrying, it kind of defeats the whole purpose of the original size and weight - concealment.

Carrying a 12 or 17 round back up magazine in a belt mag pouch makes some sense when I OWB with a belt.

I bought a 365 and it seems like Sig got everything "right". I can't think of anything I would change about it and I've owned over 100 guns and can usually think of something I would change on ANY gun. I liked mine so well I bought the 365 XL and added a Holosun optic sight and love it also but it's trigger is not quite as good as my 365. As a side note I just bought an M&P 10mm and love everything about it as well and it has the best trigger of any striker fire gun I own or have ever shot.

I'm going to get a 10 rd mag just for that purpose.

My only complaint so far. It's harder than Chinese arithmetic to load those mags past like 8 rounds. I'm sure they'll ease up some with use.

I just purchased the new 365X Macro. It is longer in the grip frame and takes 17+1 rds. It also has a full pic rail in the front and interchangeable back straps. Also has a built in compensator. This thing is way KOOL!

Well al the stars finally lined up and I got out to shoot the new P365 today, which means the wife finally let me, anyways.

I don't like the Sig I absolutely love it with a dozen exclamation points!! I could go on for two pages about how much I love it. Perhaps it's just me in my now getting older years? But the recoil of the Sig is much more controllable and easier on the web of my hand than the Kimber Micro9.

With the Kimber like 10 rds. into shooting it my hand is already getting sore from that beavertail digging into the web. I shot probably 75 rds. thru Sig today in full comfort. And shot it much better!!

And.... heck I like the trigger on the Sig better than the Kimber!! Yes it's a bit mushy/has some slack. What striker fired doesn't? But the Sig to me feels lighter on the break than the kimber. In short zero complaints about the trigger.

Like I've seen other people write it shoots more like a bigger gun. I'm very happy, elated in fact and so glad I bought it. I'll post some target pics here in a bit.

Here's my targets from this morning with new Sig. They were shot offhand at about 7 yards. I fired probably 15 rounds just into a hillside in woods first just getting a feel for the gun.

Then I was getting a little more comfortable with trigger and:

The little holes in top target were caused by my 12ga shooting 3" turkey loads getting ready for turkey season next month.

I was very quickly done shooting them lol. I need a lot more practice with the Sig to get to Hickock45 level.

Oh and I got my trigger pull gauge out today just out of curiosity. And a three pull average for the Kimber was 7lbs 2oz. The avg. for the Sig P365 was 6lbs 5ozs.

I had the gauge from my old rifle days. Then I got even more curious and tested my S&W model 19-3 three pull avg. 3lbs. 4oz. And my model 586-3 was 3lbs. 9oz.

I usually spend to much effort time and money making my guns the way I like them.
In the case of the 365 I did send the slide back to Sig to have a shorter front sight installed to bring up the point of impact to the top of the sights. Where I live I am much more likely to shoot at a snake, ground squirrel or coyote than anything else, and don't want to cover the target with the sights. I believe it was 60$ and took exactly one week. A Houge "Handall" grip sleeve round out the package.
Look into Magguts magazine kits. They turn 10rd mags into 12s, and 12s into 14s without noticeably increasing mag length. (also makes them easier to load).
I honestly believe the Sig 365 is the best personal defence pistol made. And I don't like striker fired plastic guns.

For the first few hundred rounds the magazines are a bear to load - especially after the 8th round. They will loosen up after a while and you will be able to load them fully by hand.

That said, when I shoot my P365 I will usually shoot at least 100 rounds and for Range purposes I do use an Uplula loading devise. It just makes it so much easier!

NOTE: When using the Uplula loader I will load the first round by hand. This prevents the metal strip from digging into the follower. When I load a magazine of carry ammo I load it all by hand as I do not want any of the rounds scratched, scraped or altered in any way. For practice at the range it is a non issue, but again, I'd load the first round by hand to protect the follower.

Good tip thanks

I shot about 75 rds. thru P365 this morning. Just can't stress enough how much I love this pistol

Here's a couple test targets. I shot 3 or 4 mags at steel plate gong targets before trying paper,

Target 1: 115 gr FMJ Rem factory ammo

Target 2: 115 gr. XTP relaods

Not to bad I guess?
