Good sight pusher

The crucial sight replacement issue concerns the fitment of the new sight base to the existing dovetail. Most, if not all replacement sights are shipped oversized to accommodate tolerances.

Accordingly, the new sight usually needs to be slightly modified in order to fit the dovetail properly. Forcing an oversized sight base into a dovetail is not necessary, and can cause damage.

If the sight base is properly pre-fit to the space provided, and a little bit of quality lubricant is applied, an expensive sight pusher is not needed.

Regardless of your preferred method of installation, properly fitting the sight is critical. A light interference fit is all that’s needed.

Billbro, a decent sight pusher is a must! Esp with a CZ.
I bought the blue one off amazoo for about $40 (probably more now) and I think I put my slide in the freezer for a few hours before doing the rear sight swap on my cz SP01.

Worked out fine. Removal and installation of new!

Good job OP!
Oh yes, checking that the new sight goes in by hand at lest 1/3 of the way helps. Light filing as needed to the sight not the frame. Also researching the sidedness of the install and removal direction helps!!!

I think unless Ive worked on every gun in existence I would not speak in absolute terms like "works on any gun" or "works on any gun" . Never believe anyone who speaks in absolutes because there are few absolutes in life and they have nothing to do with guns but more to do with taxes and your soul.
Yes, fitting the NEW sight is key as is driving them the correct way, i e left-right or right-left but you do have to get the old one out first.

I have looked at a lot of sight pushers and built thousands of them. I have yet to see one that is completely universal. Some are closer than others.
