This is a Model 26-1 chambered in 45 Colt. 5" tapered barrel with smooth target combat trigger, target hammer, smooth service-style grips, and a factory lanyard loop.
(Yes those are the auction photos - better than I can produce. Please correct me if calling the wide, smooth trigger "target" is inaccurate.)
The Model 26-1 was a commemorative run for the Georgia State Police. However, somewhere between 35 and 40 left Springfield without any commemorative markings and this is one of those. Came with matching factory box plus screwdriver and cleaning tools still in original plastic bag. It has never been fired.
I have a question about the box: never saw "Kit Gun" before. What does that mean?
