The plot thickens for Tesla! In order for Tesla to get Government Funding for charging stations, at least half of them will be required to have both CCS and NACS charging plugs…

however relevant that may be ...
Had it not been for Tesla, The whole of the EV scene would be best represented by the Nissan Leaf. Tesla pushes the envelope of EV tech when no one else will. Respect them.

In 15 to 20 years, we will no longer care about OPEC. Or anyone's Middle Eastern wars.

Instead we'll be dependent on the Chinese for batteries. I really don't see the environmentalists letting the US strip mine lithium ore, let alone smelting it in this country.

They have to sell them to someone. If they had to depend on the free market for EV sales, they would go bankrupt.

Approximately 750,000 were sold in 2022, and ~257,700 so far sold in 2023 in the US alone, so somebody's out there seems to be interested in buying EVs…

Chevy is selling more Volts than people buying from Tesla…

For those who like to rag on the Prius, the latest version is getting rave review. The larger gas engine doesn't seem to have affect economy to any significant degree and the performance and battery capacity have been drastically improved.

That sound like a lot but it's only about 2% of new vehicle sales. Most people who I see buying EV are the ones who have to be the first on the block to have the latest tech and don't use it for a daily commute. I know it's anecdotal but the other thing I have found is that they only buy one. When they're done with it, it's back to conventional vehicles. The only reason that EV's are persisting is that the Govt. is propping it up. In fact Ford just asked for another 750 million in tax breaks for their new battery plant that has yet to go on line.

Give it some time! In 2017 Chevy sold ~3,000 Volts to Zero Teslas being sold…

US Government has been investing in 3D printing of rare earth metals that goes into manufacturing Lithium-Ion batteries for cars…

Why are you projecting the performance of a 2023 Electric Truck to something that won't even be in service until 2027, approximately 4 years from now…

Because those two trucks were foisted upon the users without their input, without any numbers to justify the purchase, without any plan and probably no budget or training to successfully operate and maintain them, and it's a waste of taxpayer money if they'll be obsolete in four years. That's a virtue signalling, check-the-woke-box-on-my-performance-appraisal action, and besides being no way fiscally responsible, it's also disgusting pandering to TPTB.

If you listen to the people who are spewing the nonsense, they better hurry because we only have about 10 more years until the poles melt and the world ends.

I guess it depends on who's spewing the nonsense, those that see a future for EVs and Hydrogen powered cars, or those that think the Earth has an unlimited supply of Fossil Fuels…
