They both look like 10 shooters? Confused….oh I see the 2nd 6” is a 6 shot…..I imagine if I had a 10 shooter, I would shoot that for convenience of reloading less frequently….my 617 and 18, 34 & 17 are all 6 shot so it isn’t a consideration for me. I do have a couple Hi-Standard 9 shooters but seldom shoot them as I prefer the s&w and Ruger single sixes and a few semi auto 22’s(2-mkIIs’ & buck mark). I have wondered though, will the factory fit a 10 shot cylinder to an early 617? That would be a nice mod to mine…

The 4” 10 shot with regular profile barrel is a prize to be sure! Only thing making it not exactly what I would be willing to buy in a modern S&W revolvers is the lack of a classic blue finish.

Choot da Mountain Gun, it looks neglected! :)

The "NEXT" owner will have the honor of being the first one to shoot the Mountain Guns,,

I have enough rimfires to keep me shooting ,, the MG's are just collectable for me,,

I have a 6-holer with a target trigger, and target hammer that I have not shot yet,,
Maybe tomorrow I will get that one out,,
it has a VERY SWEET action,,, I know it will be a shooter,,

If I can be of any help, I prefer 6 shot revolvers. It's a tradition thing ya know. Since I only own one 617 revolver my choices are limited. Not complaining though.
