Taylor Swift

While I will not say she is unattractive, neither she or her music do anything for me. For those that think otherwise, enjoy.

She's physically attractive enough. But that isn't the be-all-end-all.

When she's made public expressions of her opinions and beliefs, that's where she lost me.

We're just too far apart philosophically for me to find her "attractive".

Attraction is about more than just physical appearance for me.

"The laborer is worthy of his(her) hire."

Her fans overwhelmingly believe she is worthy.

I usually agree with you 100% on most things Rusty. This is an exception.

The Biblical quote you reference is in regards to those whose labors have enduring - even eternal - VALUE.

Just because celebrities rake in millions of dollars, that doesn't make them "worthy" of it.

To me it is just further evidence that too many people have their priorities all screwed up.

That's a really common problem in our society IMO.

Whether it is sports figures, or movie stars, or singers. THEY are convinced that the money and adulation they receive is proof of their worth, and that it puts them on a different plane - above the rest of us "little people".

THEY ARE ALL JUST ENTERTAINERS. Being entertained is NOT the most important or highest priority in terms of values. Not for me anyway. Though the bass-akwards value system of our society would seem to say that it is.

I disagree. Strongly.

Are you familiar with a famous quote about "giving the masses bread and circuses"? Consider the frame of reference for that quote. That's where we're at right now.

Just my opinion.

Define common sense.

Well, in my view, it is kind of like obscenity.

I may not be able to define it for you, but I know it when I see it.

Same with common sense. Or maybe a better term would be GOOD sense - since it doesn't seem to be all that common anymore.

Spending $4k for a couple of concert tickets to watch someone sing for an hour and a half ISN'T what I would call good sense.

Not when you consider that investing the same $4k could pay for a year of college 10 or 15 years in the future.

As I said before, it is all about the VALUE you receive vs. what it COSTS you. The value proposition.

But what do I know?
