I got this on ebay and it just arrived today. Always wanted to know how many rounds I’ve loaded, instead of having to weigh them at the end. And I like vintage analog cool looking stuff. I don’t think Dillon even makes them anymore.

I keep count by the number of empty primer trays on my bench.

I wet tumble and hand prime my brass, so it’s all ready to go once I start loading. I count my primed brass with empty primer trays, but always got finished round counts by weight.

Where does it count them - as they fall into the loaded ammo box?

It has an adjustable rod that goes down into the crimp die. The crimped round pushes up on the actuator to advance it. I’ve only tried it with my one set of Dillon dies…10mm with taper crimp. Not sure if it will work on other brands because not as much of the die protrudes above the toolhead and the counter needs enough of a clear spot to clip to above the locknut. Also on a roll crimp revolver die, I don’t think it will work because of the adjustment stem.

When I was competing, I would load a 5 gallon pail of 38 S&W Special wadcutters for practice. Another 5 gallon pail for the matches. If I could fit the lid on, they were not full.

When I was competing and teaching, I fired 1000 rounds a week. I don't know if 1K of .45 ACP would fill a 5 gallon pail. My right hand reminds me everyday of doing that much shooting.

No idea, but the next time I load ACP, I will let you know!
