Thinking of Sending my M&P Shield 2.0 45acp back for the second time. Light or no firing pin strike. There’s a plunger in the slide under the rear sight. I think it’s supposed to be spring tensioned down and it is not. Should I try to repair myself or send it back? If sending what’s been the turn around time?

Smith & Wesson M&P Striker Block Spring: MGW

Smith & Wesson M&P Striker Block Spacer: MGW

$10 in parts and 10 minutes of your time. Take a Dremel with a felt bob and some Flitz and polish the part of the striker block that contacts the trigger bar while you are at it.

I sent in a brand new 1911 that wouldn’t fire a few weeks ago. I had it back in 14 days even though the rep on the phone told me it would be 8 weeks.

Take the slide off, remove the rsa and barrel. Turn the slide upside down. Find the "post" circled in red. Push it forward and observe the tip protrude from the breech. It shouldn't. If it does, there's something wrong with the striker block. If it doesn't, depress and hold the striker block (circled in green) and then try pushing the striker forward and observe it protrude from the breech. It should. If it doesn't there's something wrong with the striker or striker block.

You can watch a few YT vids on how to remove the striker. You'll need to remove the rear sight to access the striker block.

It was six weeks for a M&P 9L core I just received Monday. It seems to be variable depending on the type of firearm. I just got notification today that Fedex has my 617 after only two weeks.
