FYI: Primers < $59.99/1000

Blue light special

I see here in Cheyenne WY primers are
$5.99/100. It's nice to see prices are
decreasing.

Now if Enthusiasts would refrain from
buying I'm sure prices would drop
further.

I remember paying around $38.00/ 1,000 for Winchester primers pre-COVID. With inflation going nuclear in the last few years, I'd think that $50-$55 per 1,000 would be a good price once the market settles down.

When I do the guzintas on it with the inflation calculator it comes up $41.88-$47.87 using 2019 prices of $35-$40. We ought to break $50 just a little. That'll be your signal.....

Buy now, or forever hold your complaints.

Seems like the 60 dollar mark is about as low as they are going. I have been a buyer at that price when what I need is available.

I'd be happy to pay $60 a brick if I saw them. But my local two shops haven't had any primers for 3 years. I don't have a Bass Pro, Sportsman's Warehouse, or a Cabelas near me. I'm not against taking a ride a few times a year but there's no guarantee that they'll be there and I'd hate to make long trips for no reward.

And Brownells has a "special deal" for $79.99 for Federal. Throw in shipping and hazmat and it's over $100. Yeah, things are really looking up!

Forget Cabelas. They had SR SP and LP today at 8.99-9.99 a hundred. They are still gouging us big time

My local retailer is clinging to these prices per 1000.

$79.99 for Federal small pistol.
$89.99 for CCI small pistol and small pistol magnum and Federal small rifle.
$99.99 for Federal Gold Medal small pistol, small pistol magnum, large pistol, small rifle, and small AR rifle.
$119.99 for CCI small rifle magnum and small rifle bench rest.

Based on the CPI for inflation, $38 in the summer of 2019 should be about $46 today. Even $50 would be high based on that. Obviously with panic buying and hoarding that is prevalent in this hobby, one would not expect the cost of primers to be directly correlated to the CPI.
