Regards from Italy

thank you all for the welcome, I would like to tell you a curiosity linked to the Sw 547 in Italy (1979), it was the first weapon to be able to use the 9luger cartridge available to civilians, but only with a bare lead bullet; the 9luger with armored ball until last year was only for military and police use, then it was also liberalized for civilians. There was also a similar case with the 45acp, banned in semi-automatic weapons until around 1995/6 (replaced by the 45HP)

Interesting, you will find that many of us (including me) have a 547. I do not know about Italy but that gun is not too well know in general here!-

Benvenuto, paisán! My father's father was from San Giovanni Incarico in Frosinone, but your English is immensely better than my italiano. No matter; we all speak Smith and Wesson here. Saludos!

Max,

Can you explain all the requirements for a civilian to own handguns in Italy? A long time ago, a colleague from Bari (actually Santeramo) told me it was very complicated. But I don't remember the details.

Grazie!

I was unfamiliar with the Mod 547....

Welcome to the Forum Max from South of Houston! I wish that I bought a 547 back in the late 80's when they were available!
