RemArms will pull out what little manufacturing they still do in NY. They will be moving the operation to their new Headquarters and R&D facilities in Georgia. CEO says Georgia “supports and welcomes the firearms industry”. He also states “NYs unfriendly gun laws were a factor in the decision”. This sounds exactly like the statement Kahr Arms made when they announced in 2013 that they were leaving New York. That was shortly after the NY Safe Act was passed. The century old Remington plant sits along the Mohawk River in Illion NY. It is visible from the NY Thruway (I90). The building screams history. But I’m sure it will fall into disrepair and be demolished. This is a huge blow to the community. Politians are elected to create jobs and opportunities NOT chase them away.
