New Truck

I drive a 2014 Tacoma 4WD and dearly love it. I get compliments on it all the time. I seldom ever put it in 4WD but did today when I took the missus to work. Freezing rain here in the Memphis area today. Two hours after I took her, she called and said they were sending them all home due to the deteriorating WX. So back I went. Oh well, she retires on 3/7 and we'll BOTH be at home in the house. She works in a lung nodule cancer clinic and I've been telling her about ya'll and your battles. We've kept ya'll in prayer and we're happy about the recent good results! God bless.

I just traded a 2009 Tacoma with 165,000 miles for a 2022 Tacoma TRD Sport V6. The only thing I didn't like about the 2009 was the 2.7 Liter 4-cylinder's lack of power on the hills. The 2022 solved that. It is a lease turn in with just over 12,000 miles and got all the bells and whistles. Lovin' it.

When I first started at the Post Office as a rural carrier we had to furnish our own vehicles. I had a 86 Toyota truck. They didn’t have fancy names then like Tacoma, it was just a Toyota truck. Ran it 80 miles a day, 480 stops. Ran it until they furnished everyone vehicles in 1990. Ran like a top when I traded it in on a Tundra in 95. Did have to replace a lot of break pads though. Have a 2018 now and it will probably outlast me.

This may sound repetitive but I’m glad the two of you weren’t hurt. I remember when you bought the Ram truck several years ago. Material things can be fixed and replaced but if the 2 of you get injured or hurt, that’s a different story. Stay safe. Good looking Tacoma. Congratulations on the purchase.

Good you are both OK Snubs. Toyotas are great trucks. I have over 180,000 on my Tacoma. Still running strong. You will like it.

I wouldn't trade my 2018 access cab Tacoma for an anything except a newer access cab Tacoma, love the new LED lights.

Toyota's are tough trucks. Back in 2009 my folks had just got off the Macon bypass onto 75 north when they had a massive wreck in their Tundra. They were pulling a 27 foot Airstream going around 75 MPH when something went wrong and my dad lost control. Witness said it flipped 5 times. The Airstream broke away from the truck. They got out with the help of someone that stopped. My mom spent one night in the hospital, and my dad spent 2. His head busted out the window, and just about cut his ear off. No side airbags in a 2005 Tundra.

Toyota replaced a lot of Taco frames because they rusted so badly. You never heard much about that because Toyota can do no wrong. If Dodge would have had to replace one frame, it would have been all over the inter web. Americans do certain things better than anyone in the world. Pick-up trucks are one of those things. The fact that you both walked away from that crash unscathed, is a testimony of those big old Dodge trucks.

Dodge is built in Mexico.
Taco is built in San Antonio.

We had a 2009 Tacoma with the same horsepower rating and it did fine out here in the mountains of West Virginia. Our new truck did fine on the way home.
Two things though, it's not as "zippy" as our Toyota Yaris nor as torquey as our Dodge but it does fine.
