Ever since I read Gulliver's Travels

It is the folly of too many to mistake the echo of a London coffee house for the voice of the kingdom.

It often happens that, if a lie is believed only for an hour, it had done its work and there is no further occasion for it.

You cannot reason a person out of a person he did not reason himself into.

Jonathan, that is, moderately modernized. Echo chambers are nothing new.

Does that ever bring back memories! I had to do a term paper in high school about Gulliver's Travels and how it was a satire and not a children's book. That took a lot of research.
