Hello everyone,

Recently acquired an M&P 2.0 Perf Center and couldn't be happier. I am new to the gun world and have a lot of questions relating to the gun, where to buy replacement parts from, and how to go about extracting the maximum out of it.

My gun has a 5 inch ported barrel and optics ready slide with a Holosun 407 red dot and Streamlight 8 light laser combo on it. Since I had bought it used, there are some issues I am dealing with, which is what brought me here, because there seems to be not much support available from the manufacturer (I have called them multiple times during business hours and always get the message that they are closed!!??).

Hopefully, joining here and learning will help me resolve them.

Where do I go on the forum to ask questions about what I struggling with? The first issue pertains to the red dot (Holosun 407CX2) and the fact that the right side screw stays loose and does not thread into the slide. I put blue lotite on it, but that didnt help. The other (left side) screw is tight and is keeping the red dot in place, but I dont know for how long.

I cant seem to find the answer. The screw has broken off inside the hole, and I dont know where I can buy a replacement slide if needed. I cant find one (optics ready, ported, suitable for a 5 inch ported barrel).

Anyway, I am learning to shoot now by dry firing and going to the state land north of where I live, and practice there on targets to strengthen my grip and learn to isolate my trigger finger (left-handed with right eye dominance).

I appreciate you all helping a newbiw out.

Thanks.

Hello,

I am in Laurel. Moved here 2 years ago from Wisconsin and before that, from Canada (Calgary). There is a gunsmith here in Laurel at the On Target shop. Really good people. I have (I think) solved my problem. it was the usual situation of Holosun screws being weak. I took one off and it wouldnt go back. Luckily, I had a bunch of screws that came with the mounting plates with my gun and I just replaced them, and the torqued them down with the FAT Torque screwdriver.

Learning how to shoot a handgun is vastly different from shooting AK47s and machine guns, as I am very quickly learning.

I also have, not a disability, but a strange handicap. I am ambidextrous, in that there are certain things that I can do really well with my left hand (fighting, writing, etc.), and there are things that I can only do with my right hand (using power tools, carrying out delicate precision work. And to top it off, my right eye is dominant, but I tend to use my left eye more for seeing things. And then here is the kicker - my right hand is very weak, and my left hand is much stronger than the right, while my right wrist is much stronger than my left wrist. I have no clue which hand to use for shooting. Tried both, and both feel equally awkward.

Any pointers on how to go about determining which hand to use for shooting? Should I have my strong hand be the one I shoot with or should it be the support hand? Should I go with the hand that has more strength or go with the hand that has more control/precision as the hand to shoot with?

Thank you for your inputs in advance.
