"Sure. Here..."
BANG! "OUCH!!!!"

What did Einstein say about human stupidity?

You may not be able to read the article, but the short version is this:

A man shot himself in the leg with a stranger’s gun in Bellingham WA, police say.

A man walking through the woods... around 11 a.m. Friday, June 21 came across another man who was carrying a gun.

The first man asked if the gun was real. The man with the gun said it was and let him hold the weapon... The first man shot himself in the leg almost immediately... He told police he didn’t know the gun was loaded.

The second man took the gun back and ran off. His location and that of the gun are unknown...The weapon was described as looking “gaudy and fake” by a woman who was with the injured man...

Oh, but you can make this stuff up.

I would throw the BS Flag on that story.

Guy knows who shot him and why but isn't saying, more than likely.

Who is going to be in the park and give their handgun to a complete stranger? Nobody, especially if I feel I need to carry a gun in the park.

It certainly seems odd. Another local paper called it "a bizarre accidental shooting." It wasn't actually in a park but in a wooded area near the airport. I know that area and I wouldn't be surprised there are some strange people hanging around there. Used to be (and maybe still are) homeless people camping in the woods there.

As my gf likes to say, "It takes a lot of nuts to make a fruitcake".

I too am detecting the odor of cod from this one. Another theory is that he shot himself with a gun he wasn't supposed to have and made up the story about a second guy entirely. Gotta tell the hospital, and therefore the police, something. Hide the gun and say the guy left with it and it was his anyway.
I'll be applying the "cod filter" as I check the papers in the coming days  Either there will be more complete information or the story will disappear. Haven't seen anything on the Bellingham Police Dept. reports so far, but they're not always complete.

Or another possibility, the girl with him shot him because he wronged her somehow, and he doesn’t want to get her in trouble.
