So I got married a couple months ago and I've built all the houses I've lived in for the last 25 years and had been building a new house for the two of us. Based on my past experience being married twice, I built the master closet extra BIG! We started moving in yesterday and I put all my clothes in a small section of the closet then my wife started putting her clothes in and it wasn't going to be big enough. I told her she really needed to get rid of some clothes and a little while later she drags out a large 42 gallon contractor trash bag filled to the top. You guessed it, all the clothes were mine.

I've heard marriage #4 is the charm! ;)

We live in a 3-bedroom home with an 8 x 10 walk in closet in the master suite, a walk-in closet in one of the other 2 bedrooms and a large closet in the 3rd bedroom. I use 1/3 to 1/2 of the master suite closet and she has the remaining ones overflowing.

She regularly pulls things out saying I need to get rid of them.

I think it is in their DNA. Just give in it ain't worth the hassle.

It's not too late for an Annulment! LOL!

Hopefully you already have your own built in gun sanctuary to retreat into. Complete with fridge, TV, toilet and of course WIFI to keep us posted on how it's going.

Can she cook? That makes up for a lot of short comings ya know. :D

When I entered the Army in 1968 I was issued winter dress green uniform, summer dress greens, 3 khaki shirts and trousers, 4 fatigue shirts and trousers, 6 undershirts, 6 boxers, 6 pairs boot socks, 4 pairs dress socks, 2 pairs of combat boots, 1 pair dress shoes, long underwear, field jacket with liner, dress uniform cap, barracks cap, 2 fatigue caps, half-dozen handkerchiefs, dress belt, fatigue belt, gloves with winter liners, and a duffle bag to try and stuff everything into.

I was totally overwhelmed. Never had so many clothes in my life, and much of what I did have came as hand-me-downs from two older brothers.

Surprisingly, everything fit very neatly in a wall locker and a foot locker, both of which were kept ready for inspection every minute of every day (or else).

We got rich when I was promoted in '92 and bought a house, using the proceeds from sale of our mobile State Police castle. I moved three (3) level pickup bed loads of my wife's clothes from our 14x70 to the house and used good-natured shaming to convince her she might be overstocked.

Now she only has 1.5 walk-in closets.
