My 686+s are my favorites but this rare Model 10 in .357 Magnum ranks right up there and it's the only handgun I ever scored 250 out of 250 on the old Texas concealed handgun test. Every other gun, including a 6" M586, was a 246 or 248. ;)

This revolver was the predecessor to the Model 13. 3000 were made, around 1200 for the NY State Police (SCSW page 206).

I figured I hadn't discussed it much in years except after my 2018 fire when I replaced the stocks.

357 is a good versatile round. I really like that 367 revolvers also work perfectly with 38 Special. I imagine that a lot of us favor our 357s and for good reason. Although there are more powerful rounds, short of military applications like stopping armored vehicles the round can adequately do about anything. the 686 is a versatile firearm as well especially with the 4" barrel. A 357 Model 10 would be interesting. Thank you for posting.

That"s sweet. I have both a 3" & a 4" 13. I think the heavy barrel profile just looks and feels right with open sights and a blue finish.

My 2nd favorite is this first year, I believe, Ruger Security Six. It just feels good in hand and it feels like it was made for me. I bought it from a Forum member, Toyman, and it is one of the best-shooting revolvers I own! (I hope he’s listening!) It’s far from a safe queen…it’s a Ruger! One of the last guns
I’ll ever part with.
