Recently picked up a very nice condition 3906 off the forum. I have always had a soft spot for 3rd Gen. guns.

Mine went off to my friends at Novak's for a duty action/reliability/carry bevel package, along with the installation of a Novak rear sight and removal of the trigger guard hook.

Got a sneak peek picture before the application of the Novak logo. Now just searching for some more magazines and gathering spare parts before they disappear.

Hendersonville eh , weren't you guys hit hard by the storm . Family and myself have spent many a vacation in Maggie Valley . Hope you and yours came out ok .

I think all 3904's and 3906's had the long, hooked trigger guard. I guess that production of the 3904/06 receivers ended around the time S&W switched to the long, rounded trigger guard.

I think that all the 3900 series had the hook. Not that many out there compared to the other models.

Not exactly. The 3913/3914 doesn't have it. At least my examples do not.

My 3904 does have the hook and my older 5903 has it too.

That is about as practical and nice a 9mm pistol as anyone could want. :) I have an older 639 (rounded trigger guard) that I just last week had out of hiding to shoot a bit. It took a few rounds for me to acclimate to the trigger, but after that I was pleased. Congrats on your very nice 3906.

That’s a great pistol that will always go unappreciated.
