I am torn between getting the 627 Performance Center 8 shot and a 686-4 six shot pre lock..... Its in great shape! The extra two rounds would be nice...... However I hate the Hilary hole......

Would you go with the 686-4 for $775 or the 627-5 PC 8 shot for $1050........

I am on the clock!

686-4….. needs grips

We agreed on $750 I’m sorry with some ammo….
I think the price is good. I do like the 627-5 I’m torn

Tough decision! They're both nice revolvers and both have decent prices. I'm a big fan of N-frames and have a PC 627-5 with 2-5/8" bbl. I also recently began to appreciate L-frames and bought a minty 3" 686-6 Plus (7-shot) that I really like. The N-frame is a little larger and weighs about an ounce more than the L-frame, but it's hardly noticeable when carried OWB in a good holster. Both of mine have the Hillary Hole but I just ignore it (may plug them later). If you could negotiate the price lower for the 627-5, that's what I would choose. However, I only paid $750 OTD for the 686-6 Plus which I thought was a smokin' deal. Good luck!

As already stated, that is a 66. Check the flat part of the forcing cone to ensure it isn't cracked from shooting light bullets at high velocities. I would stick with 158 grain ammo for that one. Nice gun!

As others have noted, that ain't no M686-4......
This is what one looks like....

Congrats on the M66......

Just for reference, I recently sold a very similar 66 snubbie. I listed it for $750 and it got snatched up quick. So if you can get it for $750 yourself... Grab it! It's a great gun.

You made the right choice IMO. Also, in that barrel length the 66-4 would be my preference over a 686-4, but again that is just my personal preference. Anytime you can pick up a pre-lock 66 or 686 in that barrel length for that kind of money you have done well!!

As others have mentioned, that looks like a Model 66 and if it is in good mechanical condition, $775 is a really good deal.

I know it’s a 66-4 now thanks. The gentleman had a 686 and a model 66. It’s coming with some ammo as well. I’m kind of bummed about it not being a 686-4……

Is a the 66-4 still a good piece to carry ?
I really do appreciate all the feedback. I really am on the fence now……
