Interesting holdup today

For some reason that reminds me of that time Clint Eastwood was in the barber chair covered with an apron and about to get a shave. The bad guys came in and were fixin to initiate some bovine residue and.. well.. you know how THAT turned out.

Roger

(and yes, "fixin" is a word...look it up)

Learn something everyday. I thought it was "finnin".

Imagine the sinking feeling the big tough robber got when he was pistol-whipping a guy he thought was unarmed, then suddenly two slugs slam into his thorax.

As to "why pull a robbery in a beauty salon":
Efficiency. El Thuggo could go around mugging individuals one at a time, or get the drop on ten or so, in a confined space, and rob the group, all at once. The downside is there's a greater likelihood of encountering effective resistance.

I have noticed an uptick in San Antonio crime. Not only are shootings more common, they are occurring in places they never, or very rarely, occurred say 4-5 years ago. I used to seldom carry in the northern part of San Antonio. Now I don't leave my house without a fat baby Glock.

Maybe the BG had inside info, so & so always has a big wad ??

Perhaps they were in need of quick fix and the 2-300 ?

Another shooting in the middle of downtown SA last night. Some guy tried to run down two cops and they fired on him. They connected. Car hit a building and burst into flames. Driver was killed.

Gun violence can occur anytime, anywhere...Note recent accounts in WalMart's, McDonalds, Electric Vehicle Charging stations, gas stations and stand alone drive up teller machines......Always be alert to the possibility no matter where you are and just to be safe consider everyone around you to also be carrying.

Guy got what he deserved but I can’t consider anyone’s premature death to be a happy ending. Hapoy no one else was hurt, yes.

Actions have consequences. No one to blame but the perp for his demise. I myself find that a thug removed from the realm of the living to be a good thing.

I do agree that it's a good thing no one was hurt during the crime.

Sharp as a tack he was...

"The situation escalated when the gunman, identified as 50-year-old Victor Cardenas, became agitated upon realizing there was nothing to steal. He pistol-whipped the customer, who then took decisive action. As the robber attempted to restrain him, the customer drew his own firearm and shot Cardenas at least three times. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. According to records, Cardenas has previous arrests for vehicle theft, vehicle burglary, evidence tampering, evading arrest, and other drug charges"

Quit using their term. There is no such thing as "gun violence". There is just criminal violence, some of which is committed using a firearm. Do not empower the enemy. Words matter.

I support that position, but I’ve never had to deal with mean, dangerous people like that. I feel sorry for anyone who has to, especially policemen, who have to do it frequently. I’m pretty sure weak responses will serve to get us more of the same. Unfortunately, it’s not a perfect world.
